Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Cornbread Fred is a 5 month old male lab mix. He once stole an entire pan of cornbread from the table and ate it in record time. He loves to cruise the kitchen in hopes of finding snacks or a kind grandmother that will sneak him a biscuit.  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##2081411##

Story
Hi there, my name is Andreas and I'm here to find my forever home. I am a young, male dog with lots of love and energy to give. I am very affectionate and loyal to my human friends and I love to be around people. My athletic build makes me an ideal companion for long walks and even runs. I also love to play and will happily chase after my favourite toy for hours on end. I am a very curious dog and I am always sniffing around to find out what's going on in my environment. I can be a bit funny and make you laugh with my antics, but I am also a very smart dog and I would love to learn new tricks. If you're looking for a fun, loyal, and affectionate companion, I'm the perfect boy for you!

Story
Welcome Frida—aka Freeway to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 40 pound Labrador. Freeway was rescued off a freeway by a good Samaritan. She is 15 months old. The good Samaritan boarded her at the vet office and they did all the vetting except her spay. The lady could not find a home or take her into her home so she asked the vet office (our vet) to put her down. CCPAL got the call to take in this precious Labrador puppy. She is well trained after being boarded. She is good in a kennel, good on a leash, nice with other dogs, good with all people including strangers, potty trained on a good schedule and very very sweet. She is attentive and affectionate. She looks for direction and has a very mild and a “want to please” personality. She would be perfect with an active family. Kids would be fine with this pup. We like children to be 8 or older. I would think someone who has time to finish off her puppy training and continue to take her places would be a great home for her. She is healthy, spayed, up on all vaccines and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
