Story
Reggie is a big, fluffy “golden teddy bear” who lives for two things: a great play session and an even better couch cuddle- ideally in that order! He’s goofy, affectionate, and once he’s decided it’s time to rest, he turns into a full-body snuggle puddle who wants to be close, preferably on the couch with you. Simply, Reggie’s motto is “Play hard. Sleep hard.” Watch Reggie in action on YouTube (and fall in love responsibly): https://youtu.be/GkfXkf0BkqU Quick stats, Reggie is estimated to be around 3 years old and about 85 lbs. Breed is a best guess since he’s a rescue, but we’re seeing strong Golden Retriever + Great Pyrenees + maybe a sprinkle of Shepherd. Translation- big, handsome, Beyonce moment gorgeous coat, and a lot of Pixar-level-cuteness.. Let’s talk about what Reggie needs to succeed, do not be blinded by his good looks, you still have to get to know him. This boy is a social butterfly, he plays beautifully with dogs, passed a daycare evaluation with flying colors, and has that “let’s be friends!” vibe from go. Other scenarios can look different, passing a dog in a tight hallway, driving by a dog on the sidewalk, or a cutie friend across the street- this is when Reggie’s friendly nature gets the best of him and he looses his best-boy manners. Sounds like my five year old son in some ways. He will make it clear he wants to meet that dog usually by pulling himself their way or even barking, and given his size, if you are unaware of this it can be a lot to manage. This isnt Reggie being reactive, he just gets excited and frustrated that life isn’t all dog-parks and friends so spontaneous playmates could just happen. Basically, he wants to get to the exciting new friend, not hurt it. Knowing this, here is what Reggies best-match home looks like: • A quieter environment (ideally a house, or at least low dog-traffic walks) where training can actually happen without constant surprises. • A person who’s ready to keep building on his training. . He is a smart boy and food-motivated, which makes him a great training partner. Channeling that is key! • A lifestyle that enjoys and supports the “Play hard. Sleep hard” lifestyle. Truly it is an environment all dogs thrive off of- a consistent routine, regular adventures and dog+dog playtime, along with enrichment that tires his brain out in a good way- think puzzle toys, snuffle mats, treat games, etc. Inside the home, Reggie has a ton going for him. He is perfectly content relaxing on his own and doesn’t get worried when you step out or are out of his site. He can occasionally use his bark to communicate but this is easily addressed wiith structure, enrichment, and the mindset that quiet earns rewards. He loves long-lasting chews like Whimzees and beef cheeks- if he is quiet he gets a long-lasting treat that only helps enforce that quiet contentedness. Reggie is both house and crate trained, we love that! Reggie is at ease and relaxes once he is in his crate but will hesitate about going in at first. His previous foster shares that this is easily addressed with routine and gentle training, really stressing that a little effort pays off fast. Now, we know Reggie loves an adventure and for most of us those big, fun adventures involve getting in a car. Reggie is all about getting in the car, he loves loves loves a window seat more than anything! But to Reggie, both sides of the car are his window-seat, Now it doesnt bother me one bit but just know, Reggie will bop back and forth while driving to catch the view on both sides. This is easy to remedy with secure buckling and a ‘car-calm” practice but i will tell you, its hard to be mad when you know he is just so excited by the big-wide-world and everything int it. Let’s not forget, beside those gorgeous good looks he is also an absolute sweetheart! Let’s hit the highlights- he is dog-social, affectionate, loves snuggling, and he’s been described as the kind of big lap dog who can’t get close enough once he knows you are playing for keeps. He also previously passed a cat test with calm curiosity, and because he can be bouncy when excited, we recommend kids 8+ so no one gets accidentally love-tackled. Please know, Reggie is NOT “too much dog”. We love honesty and know that the absolute best dog can be anything but if they are put into the wrong environment. Reggie is a great dog who needs the right environment for that greatness to shine. In that environment, you are guaranteed a boy with the happiest romps, snuggles galore, and one loyal, gorgeously glam dream sidekick. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68efc6d2773f3663c0039b10 Questions? Story
Duque has been patiently waiting over a year for a family to call his own, and we honestly can’t understand why. This 1.5 years old, 6o-pound, neutered Lab mix is the total package—affectionate, playful, goofy, and absolutely bursting with love. He’s currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, Texas, and can transport out of state to an approved adopter. Duque is one of those dogs who’s never met a stranger. He greets everyone with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and a heart full of love. Whether it’s a neighbor, a new dog, or a friend of a friend, Duque is always ready for pets, kisses, and a cuddle. He’s a loyal, loving companion who’s happiest when he’s near his people. True to his Labrador roots, Duque is full of energy and joy. He plays beautifully with other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine companion. Just a heads-up: his enthusiasm might be too much for calmer or older dogs—he’s a full-throttle fun kind of guy. Duque’s ideal home would be with an active person or family familiar with high-energy breeds. He’ll need daily exercise and enrichment to stay balanced and happy. Apartment life could work only if his person is committed to regular outings like hikes, runs, dog park visits, or doggy daycare. Inside the home, Duque is both crate and house trained. He settles in with a treat and loves to nap after his adventures. He’s also famously vocal at mealtime—expect some enthusiastic “announcements” when dinner’s served, followed by the best food coma snoozes. Training-wise, Duque is smart, eager to please, and responds well to structure. He’s still learning leash manners and can be a bit all over the place, but tools like a slip lead, Gentle Leader, or no-pull harness help a lot. Duque hasn’t lived with cats or kids, though he’s shown curiosity toward cats. We recommend slow, careful introductions if cats are in the home. For families with children, older kids (8+) who are steady on their feet would be best, as he could accidentally knock over younger toddlers during play. Duque is a true lovebug with a big heart and even bigger smile. He’s been waiting far too long to find his forever family—and we just know the right person is out there. If you're looking for a goofy, loyal, cuddly, social pup to be your hiking buddy, adventure pal, and best friend—Duque’s your guy.

Story
Buddy is a 6-year-old, 57-lb neutered male Lab mix with a big heart and a gentle, affectionate personality. He was saved from the euthanasia list in San Antonio, TEXAS and is currently being fostered there, but he is available for out-of-state transport arranged by the rescue once matched with an approved adopter. Endearingly called “Air Bud” by his foster, Buddy loves people and forms bonds easily. He’s playful, social, and enjoys toys, pets, and any moment spent with his humans. He’s dog-friendly, but he doesn’t require another dog in the home—as long as he’s given love, attention, and companionship, he thrives. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and knows “sit.” He does great in the car, making him an easy travel buddy. Buddy enjoys walks and hikes, and because he gets excited to explore, he’s currently working on his leash manners. He may pull slightly, but he settles into a comfortable rhythm and loves being outside. His playful side comes out when he’s engaging with toys or adventuring, but indoors he settles well and loves relaxing near his people. We don’t have history with cats or young children, so we recommend a home with kids 13+ who understand dog body language and how to interact respectfully. Buddy is loving, loyal, and ready for his forever home. He’s looking for a calm, patient family who can help him learn to trust and continue to become his best self. He’s the perfect mix of playful and easygoing and would make a wonderful companion for someone ready to give him the love he’s always deserved. Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. ___ Breed and Age Notice: The listed breed and age are our best estimates. Story
Diva is a playful, affectionate, and outgoing girl with plenty of pep in her step and love to give. She adores running, playing, and chasing with other dogs, especially those that can match her fun, active spirit. Her tail is always wagging, and she’s just as happy exploring on her own as she is romping with a canine buddy. Diva would thrive in a home with another dog who shares her zest for playtime. On leash, Diva does wonderfully — she stays close and walks politely without pulling, making her an enjoyable companion for daily outings. Around cats, she mostly ignores them but will happily sneak a bite of their food if she gets the chance. She hasn’t lived with children while in foster care, but she is affectionate and gentle, and her foster believes she would do well with kids, especially those old enough to manage her enthusiasm (and protect their snacks from her curious nose!). Diva is crate trained and does well when crated for short periods, usually just for meals or when her foster is away from home. She’s very food motivated, so she’s always eager to learn, but she should be fed separately as she might try to sneak extra treats from other dogs. With toys, however, she shares well and enjoys playing without issue. Her personality is outgoing, playful, smart, and affectionate. She loves toys, cuddles, and meeting new people — she greets strangers with a friendly, tail-wagging enthusiasm. Diva is still building comfort with car rides, so long adventures will be something she needs to work up to with time. Diva has a few quirks that make her especially endearing. When corrected, she becomes “vocal,” howling as if she’s trying to argue her side of the story — it’s charming and funny, like she’s holding a conversation. Her ideal home would be one where someone is home most of the time to give her the structure, love, and activity she craves. She would do best with regular walks, plenty of playtime, and the chance to sleep close to her people. Loving, lively, and full of personality, Diva is more than ready to find a family of her own. With patience, consistency, and plenty of affection, she will blossom into the perfect companion.

**Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*** We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. __ Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Ember, 6 months (estimated DOB June 2025), spayed female, Dachshund/Terrier mix (best guess), currently around 16 pounds. We expect Ember to stay on the smaller side and likely remain under 25 pounds when fully grown. She’s a low-rider with those classic short legs, so it’ll be fun to see how she fills out as she matures. Ember is currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport to an approved adopter. Ember is a sweet, playful puppy with a gentle but curious personality. She has that perfect mix of puppy energy and cuddle potential—always ready to play, explore, or happily tag along for whatever comes next. Her brindle (prindle) coloring gives her such a unique look and matches her warm, spunky spirit. She is crate trained and doing great with potty training, giving her a solid foundation as she continues learning. Ember lives with adult dogs in her foster home and enjoys playing and socializing with them, making her a great fit for a home with another friendly dog. She also does well around children and has shown herself to be adaptable and easygoing in a busy home environment. Like any puppy her age, Ember is still learning her manners. She will need continued work on leash skills and basic obedience, and she’s very much in her chewing phase—so toys, consistency, and positive guidance will be key. There are no cats in her current foster home, but she previously lived in a home with cats from what we were told. Ember would thrive in a home that’s excited to continue her training, embrace puppy energy, and provide structure and love. With patience and consistency, she’s going to grow into a wonderful, well-rounded companion. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Venus is a 5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix weighing about 45 lbs. She's currently being fostered in Woodinville, WA and is available for meet and greets with local adopters. For those outside Washington, out-of-state adoption is possible once an approved adopter is lined up. This gorgeous girl is incredibly sweet and affectionate—she’s the kind of dog who will gently rest her head on your lap and gaze at you like you’re her whole world. Venus is calm and people-oriented, happy to match your energy whether it’s relaxing on the couch or joining you for an outdoor adventure. She’s been fostered in homes with other dogs and currently enjoys play sessions with a friendly neighbor pup. Venus loves to run, wrestle, and explore with her canine companions. She especially shines during backyard zoomies and will happily romp around in circles with a buddy. Venus also loves toys and prefers playing with her humans over other dogs. Her zoomies and little “woo” of excitement are just part of her fun, goofy charm. She adores playing in water—whether it’s a kiddie pool or stream on a trail, she’ll splash around with joy. She also rides great in the car, making her a perfect companion for road trips, park visits, or trail days. There are cats in her foster home, and Venus shows a strong interest in chasing them. While she hasn’t had direct contact, a cat-free home or one with very dog-savvy cats would be best. Venus enjoys daily walks and is especially fond of nature trails. She’s still working on leash manners—she can pull some—but she’s learning quickly and is very food motivated. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and even trustworthy when left loose in the house. She eats with enthusiasm and does best when fed separately using a slow feeder to prevent her from sneaking bites of other dogs’ meals. While she hasn’t met young children, her foster believes she could do well in a family with older, respectful kids who understand boundaries and enjoy including her in their day-to-day fun. Venus would thrive in a home where she’s truly part of the family. Whether it’s splashing in water, riding shotgun on a weekend getaway, or simply curling up next to you at the end of the day, Venus will bring a whole lot of love—and a few happy “woos”—to her forever home.
