Story
Life goals?? To have someone look at you the way Luna looks at a tennis ball or a stick… Lovable miss-Luna is as ready as ever to land herself a forever family of her own, and one that’s willing to play endless fetch would be her DREAM! Luna (female) is a 3 year old silver lab who joined the New Leash family in pretty poor physical condition due to some negligence + thyroid levels that cause hair loss & needed some medication/maintenance. Fast-forward to today…Luna is doing pretty incredible! Her foster family has shown her the unconditional love she’s never known, her fur is filling in nicely, and she is ready for a forever kind of love! More about Luna:  50lbs 100% potty-trained  crate-trained  a well-mannered girl who is a good listener!   LOVES car rides (copilot, anyone? )  will show off her tricks for some yummy treats!  affectionate & loving (kisses, cuddles, belly rubs…you name it! )  would play fetch all day, every day if you’d let her!   continuing to work on her leash etiquette (which she previously had no concept of), and is improving every single day!  ADORES her people! More about Luna’s home requirements:  A fenced-in yard would be her dream, because: 1. alllllll the fetch and 2. roaming + sniffing to her heart’s content!  Being the only dog would be ideal. Luna is your typical “covid dog,” so the socialization skills she should’ve received as a puppy are nonexistent. Her initial reaction is to become quite anxious around new dogs…so if she’s not the only dog in the home, she’d require a low-key, non-reactive 4-legged friend. She would also need to do several meet & greets with him/her prior to adoption! She continues to learn “how to dog” every single day. Has been around kiddos as young as 5 years and done wonderfully, so would do just fine with children of most all ages!  Luna is in-need of a new foster and/or forever home by Saturday, September 23rd. She is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program, so please reach out if you think she possibly sounds like a good fit for you. APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com **Luna’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1817860##

Story
Sweet little Remy is about a year old (not quite) and 40 lbs...and is a great lab mix pup who was found wandering the streets of San Antonio by a UPS driver. She had been surviving off of rain puddle water and scraps for weeks, was covered with fleas, filthy, and very thin. Since she didn't get a lot of good socialization as a puppy, she is timid when she meets new people…but she warms up pretty quickly! She will likely continue to trust people even more when she has a family to call her very own. Remy loves playing with other dogs! She’s also been fine with the children she has met. We aren't totally sure how she’d be with cats. She loves going on walks, playing fetch, and taking dips in the pool. She is housebroken + crate-trained! She’s truly a sweetie, through & through. **Remy’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, microchip, heartworm test, rabies & distemper vaccines. Story
This is Ace, he originally was part of an unwanted litter that ended up at an impound in 2017, they were 6 weeks old when we rescued them. They were known as the Pasta Pups and Ace was originally named Fettuccine. Fast-forward to 2024 and Ace was found running loose and taken to animal control for temporary impound until we had space on intake. Chip was scanned and trace back to Paws and claws for adoption. Animal control officers made contact with the family who was on vacation, but we're gonna be moving and did not want the dog back. We're only going to reclaim him to euthanize..? Not here to slam the original owners, just explaining the tragedy of the situation, as he has been terribly frightened and shaking in his kennel trying to figure out what is happening. Now it's been a couple weeks since his arrival and things are looking up. We can only do better and find him a loving home that will keep him until the end of his time on this earth hopefully.
