The adoption fee is $300 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Story
Callie is a 9mth old lab mix.  She is such a sweetheart and loves to play with other dogs.  She's learning to walk on leash and is catching on quickly.  Callie is a little shy at first but she does warm up quickly. She just arrived at the shelter so we will add to her bio as we get to know her.  If you think she's the one, please come out and meet her. The adoption fee is $400 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Story
Hey, I am Tori! I was rescued when I was 7 months old in Montana. My current family adopted me when I was 8 months old and it took me a while to get used to living in a family and around other people; I was very shy in the beginning. But when people gained my trust, I was able to feel totally safe and I could show them my goofy, playful and adventerous self with full confidence. I love going on walks and being around the people I trust, I also love being around kids and babies ( I trust them the most). I am curious about other dogs and usually have no issues with them, I have had a roomate (pitbull) for the last half year and got along well. Sometimes I get scared around new people but when that happens I just walk away to a safe space. My current family is moving to Idaho and their landlord unfortunately won't accept pets. In my new family I am looking for loving, patient parents that will make me feel at home.

Story
***Courtesy Post***** Willow is a 6 yr old lab/pitbull mix.  She is full of energy, loves to go for walks, tag along on car rides, and is very intelligent.  She needs a home where she can be the center of attention and receive a lot of love. Willow favors women more than men when it comes to people and can get jealous of other pets. It would be best for her to be in a single dog home. Willow is a sweet girl.  She is spayed and current on vaccinations. She is house-trained and is trained to go in and out of the dog door. She will whine if she needs to go out if the dog door is closed or if she is in the kennel. Willow does know her basic commands like sit, stay, shake, dismissed and kennel up, but sometimes is stubborn and needs redirection. Willow can show signs of food aggression if bothered by strangers while eating. Willow cannot play at dog parks. Willow loves walks, but has grown up in the country side where we are secluded to have space to run around.  Willow can sometimes get anxious during storms and wants to be involved with the family when we are home. She likes playing fetch with sticks, playing in water like sprinklers and even secluded lakes. She does have an aerial shock collar and remote shock collar that she has been trained with to know the land boundaries and used for redirection when being stubborn. I have had Willow since she was 4 months old. She has been my absolute best friend. I have a 3 year old toddler that she gets along great with, but that’s because she is comfortable with him and has known him since day one. I will be gone for over 18 months for military training and uncertain of what my future orders will entail.   Adoption fee $100All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.September 6, 2024, 7:21 pm

Story
Hey! Danny (DOB 9/21/2020) here! I am Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix who's looking for a new, active home. I have been with my foster family for a while and whereas they are pretty wonderful, I am ready to leave the nest and find my own place. I am almost 3 years old now and have outgrown the puppy-mouthing phase but still love some one-on-one snuggle time on the couch with my favorite human. My crate is a cool place to hang out in when my foster fam can’t take me in the car with them, especially when I have my special bone or a puzzle to work on to keep me busy. My foster dog siblings are cool to hang out with so a dog brother or sister would be okay although being an only (dog) child would be okay too. I'm okay with the felines if they leave me alone. And I am a little nervous meeting new people and dogs so apartment life still isn’t meant for me. New things can be a little scary but continual self-improvement is a lifelong goal of mine so who wants to learn some new things together? For example, I have learned car rides are fun and there are these things called drive throughs where people hand you yummy treats. I would love to find someone to explore some new places (i.e. drive throughs) with. I love to explore new places on walks too so we can get some exercise in together after visiting the drive throughs. Who's up for some new adventures? Before applying to adopt Danny, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  The suggested adoption donation for Danny is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1107116##

Story
Do you have a soft spot for large dogs? Are you fortunate enough to reside on a farm or boast a spacious backyard? Do you relish going on runs alongside a furry companion or even better, two furry buddies? If that resonates with you, then you've hit the jackpot! Allow me to introduce Berkley, who is bonded with her sister Bella - both delightful Lab/Australian Shepherd mixes! These senior darlings (b. 2017) are in search of a loving home where they can frolic freely, indulge in games of fetch, and cuddle up on cozy nights. Berkley and Bella are affectionate and exuberant dogs that get along well with children and would do well with older kids (age 10+) because of their exuberancy and size. Now, here's the catch about Berkley and Bella - they have a mischievous streak! When the opportunity strikes, they seize the chance to dig under the fence and embark on adventurous escapades. (We did mention their love for running around!) Ensuring a highly secure fence is non-negotiable for these two escapologists. Both Berkley and Bella showcase intelligence, are adept at performing various tricks, and derive joy from their shared playtime. The suggested adoption donation for Berkley & Bella together is $450. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions.
