Story
Joey is a kind, affectionate and attentive lab mix, who is approximately 7 years young and weighs about 59 lbs. Joey would make an excellent emotional support dog as he is very in tune with the emotions of the people and dogs around him. He loves puppies and does well with both cats and children. He has a tiny bit of arthritis from hip surgery but it doesn’t stop him from having a great time enjoying nature on walks and swimming in the water. Joey would love a home with a yard and plenty of loving people to keep him company. He has a little bit of anxiety at times but its completely manageable. For more information, email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ The adoption fee is $250 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only during the social distancing stage of quarantine.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##241900##

Story
Hannah is a 5.5 year old lab mix. This is the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make- but we feel as though she would be happier in a new home. Hannah is very laid back and calm. She enjoys sleeping or cuddling most of the day. We have 4 young kids and other dogs that are high energy. We feel as though our household stresses her out. Hannah would be much happier in a quieter home with older kids. She would also do just fine with calm dogs or cats. Hannah is the sweetest girl and will make someone very happy! She has great manners and has the sweetest disposition. Serious inquiries only please. And we will be picky about who she goes to because we want the best for her!

Story
Hey! Danny (DOB 9/21/2020) here! I am Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix who's looking for a new, active home. I have been with my foster family for a while and whereas they are pretty wonderful, I am ready to leave the nest and find my own place. I am almost 3 years old now and have outgrown the puppy-mouthing phase but still love some one-on-one snuggle time on the couch with my favorite human. My crate is a cool place to hang out in when my foster fam can’t take me in the car with them, especially when I have my special bone or a puzzle to work on to keep me busy. My foster dog siblings are cool to hang out with so a dog brother or sister would be okay although being an only (dog) child would be okay too. I still don’t trust the felines and small humans though so prefer to have none of them around. And I am a little nervous meeting new people and dogs so apartment life still isn’t meant for me. New things can be a little scary but continual self-improvement is a lifelong goal of mine so who wants to learn some new things together? For example, I have learned car rides are fun and there are these things called drive throughs where people hand you yummy treats. I would love to find someone to explore some new places (i.e. drive throughs) with. I love to explore new places on walks too so we can get some exercise in together after visiting the drive throughs. Who's up for some new adventures? Before applying to adopt Danny, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  The suggested adoption donation for Danny is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1107116##

Story
Are you a big dog lover? Do you live on a farm or have a big backyard? Do you enjoy going for runs with a furry friend? What about 2 furry friends? If this sounds like you, then, JACKPOT! Meet Berkley, bonded with sister Bella, who are both Lab/Australian Shepherd mixes! These 7-year-old babies are looking for a new home where they can run around all day, play fetch, & get snuggled at night. Both Berkley & Bella are very friendly dogs who do well with kids, they don't always know how big they are and could knock over a tiny human on accident. Here's the thing about Berkley & Bella.. they have been pretty sneaky, and when mom & dad aren't looking, they dig under the fence and take off running. (We DID say they love running around) So, a very secure fence is a MUST with these two. Both of these dogs are very smart and know quite a few tricks, and love playing together.  The suggested adoption donation for Berkley & Bella together is $500. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Story
Scared, in a loud kennel, shivering in a corner, unsure of what was going on, stood sweet baby Armani. He was in what could have been his final hours of life. Sadly, Armani was running out of time, and then just in time, he was saved by a wonderful Muddy Paws Volunteer who took him into her home! Luckily for him, fate was on his side. Armani is a Lab Mix b. July 2022 and is now looking for a home that will love him for the rest of his life. Armani is a little shy and scared of new people, but with patience and love, he comes around pretty fast. But boy, let us tell you, once you are in his circle, he is the cutest, most loving dog you will ever meet. This guy wants nothing more than to be with his people, whether it's cuddling on the couch or outside playing with his toys, as long as he's got you, he is HAPPY. Due to his shyness and the fact that he is learning to trust the world again, Armani would do best in a home where he was the baby, so no kiddos under 16, please. He also needs a fenced-in yard so he has a safe & secure place to burn off his energy. This guy likes to be the king of the castle and would do best in a home as the only dog. Armani is a very smart boy and has picked up lots of training. He is almost fully muzzle trained and is catching on to Sit and Lay Down pretty fast. To help ensure Armani has the smoothest transition into his furever home, he will require a couple of sessions with one of our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based Trainers. Lucky for him, every dog adopted out through Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue comes with lifetime free behavioral training with one of our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based Trainers! The suggested adoption donation for Armani has been partially covered by a group of animal lovers who want to see Armani in a safe, loving home, his adjusted adoption donation is $150. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. Story
Bailey (b. 3/2017), a Lab mix, is looking for a furever home! Bailey is a sweetheart.  She can be shy at first but warms up very quickly.  She loves to lay in the sun, goes on an occasional walk, takes car rides, and sleeps the day away.  She loves her plush toys and blankets.  The best home for Bailey is calm, and a place where she is not cooped up all day.  She needs a home with no children, they make her uneasy because they are unpredictable. She does prefer women.  Can you provide Bailey with her furever home? The suggested adoption donation for Bailey is $375. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life.
