Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Meet Raven — a beautiful 1-year-old Black Lab/Collie mix with the sweetest soul.  Found as a stray in Georgia, this girl was understandably scared and shut down in the shelter environment. But once she landed in her foster home, her true personality started to shine — and according to her foster mom, she’s an absolute “dream.'  Raven is gentle, and easygoing in the home. She’s housebroken, appears to be crate trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and doesn’t even seem bothered by thunder storms. She gets along great with other dogs and is respectful with cats too, making her an easy addition to just about any family. At only 38 pounds, Raven is currently on the skinny side, but she’s happily working on gaining weight and filling out. What she lacks in pounds, she makes up for in love and charm.  Now, we do have to mention her leash walking skills — or lack thereof. Raven currently walks a little like a happy drunk tourist who’s never seen a sidewalk before. She zigzags, wanders, and generally treats walks like a full-body adventure. But she’s young, eager to please, and with a little consistency and leash practice, she’s sure to improve quickly. Raven is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and officially ready to find the forever family she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, loving companion who will make you smile every day, Raven may just be your perfect match!  All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. May 12, 2026, 8:46 pm

Story
Meet Max — a handsome 1-year-old pup weighing in at 55 pounds of pure love and enthusiasm! Max has been thriving in a southern foster home, where he’s earned glowing reviews for being such a good boy. He loves to play, stay active, and soak up all the affection he can get. His goofy, playful personality is impossible not to love! Max is dog-friendly and has shown curiosity around cats but hasn’t been aggressive. Because of that, we’re not quite sure how he’d do with a feline sibling, so a proper introduction would be important. And the best part? Max is already neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations, and microchipped — ready to pack his bags and head straight to his forever home (after his tentative vet visit)! 🩵 This sweet boy is beyond excited to head North and start the next chapter of his life. He’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of tail wags to a lucky family! Interested in Max? Contact: Tailgaitsoptions@gmail.com https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TGT/Dog

Story
We know this might sound a little unusual, so bear with us… In hopes that someone will see past his name and fall in love with him, we wanted to share a few adorable “fox facts”: 🦊 Foxes wag their tails like dogs 🦊 Foxes LOVE toys 🦊 Foxes find a mate and stay loyal for life 🦊 Foxes squeak when they’re happy Okay… okay… we have a confession. Fox does share some of these cute qualities — he wags his tail, loves toys, and is loyal to his people — but he’s not actually a fox. He’s a 6‑month‑old, 38‑lb Lab mix whose name just happens to match the heart of a real fox. 🧡 And here’s even more about Fox that makes him extra adoptable: ✨ He has the softest, sweetest eyes — the kind that make you feel instantly loved. ✨ He’s a cuddle bug who thinks your lap is the best place on earth. ✨ He’s playful but gentle, the perfect mix of puppy energy and good manners. ✨ He’s incredibly smart — he learns fast and wants to please. ✨ He’s great with other dogs and would love a playmate. ✨ He LOVES people — he’ll greet you with a wagging tail and full‑body wiggles. ✨ He carries his toys around proudly, like he’s showing you his treasures. ✨ He’s the perfect size — big enough to adventure, small enough to snuggle. ✨ He’s neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his shots. While we don’t recommend adopting a wild fox… we highly recommend adopting this playful, loving, goofy ball of fun who’s ready to bring joy into someone’s home.
