Story
Shamrock came to us a stray so her background is a mystery to us. What we did know was that we had a sweet dog who was terrified, shutdown and in need of love, help and guidance. With the selflessness of a wonderful foster home, we were able to see just who Shamrock is! She immediately opened up and found comfort with the resident dog along with her foster mom and daughter. We found out she loves couches, cuddles and of course treats! She is smart and food motivated to learn any command she can. Shamrock was described by her foster mom as 90% cuddles and 10% kangaroo; she gives so many kisses and loves a good belly rub. Shamrock still gets nervous around new people and situations, something that will probably never go away but with patience and understanding is easily manageable. What Shamrock now needs: *a quiet home with stability and patience *a confident, friendly dog in the home to be her friend *a home without any feline residents *a fenced in yard is preferable- she does LOVE to play fetch

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Nellie is a 10&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old Lab mix (55 lbs) with the sweetest personality and the happiest smile you’ll ever see. She’s spent a long time waiting for her forever home, but this girl hasn’t let that dim her spirit one bit. As a Lab mix, Nellie is not on common rental or homeowners insurance restriction lists, making her an easy companion for adopters in apartments, homes, and everywhere in between. Foster Notes – The Glow-Up Is Real Since moving into her foster home, Nellie has blossomed. Her eyes are brighter, her tail never stops wagging, and she’s gained healthy muscle and confidence. She’s learning commands quickly and loves showing off her adorable belly for rubs. Roll over + belly = instant Nellie happiness. Dog-Friendly, Cat-Respectful, People-Loving Nellie did amazing during intake—calm, gentle, and polite. She happily hung out with other dogs and even ignored cats, even when they darted around. She’s a low&#226&#128&#145key companion who’s content to just be near you, and if you sit down, she’ll trot over for affection. Her Perfect Match Nellie is: Sweet, social, and friendly Easygoing and eager to learn Very food&#226&#128&#145motivated (hello, easy training!) Young, healthy, and ready to bond A great fit for renters, homeowners, families, or first&#226&#128&#145time dog owners She’s been waiting patiently—95 days in the shelter and now thriving in foster—but she still needs her forever family.  Nellie will take some time to adjust and decompress. She’s nervous with men but not aggressive in any way, she will need the right loving home to adjust and trust! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nala is a five year old lab that came to us very pregnant. The owners didnt want to deal with her or her pups. All of her pups went home in early January. Nala just was spayed and now is her turn. Nala is a silly goofy yellow lab. We did dna on one of her pups please see last photo for the pups lineage. Please visit our website for more info on our adoption process and adoption application www.barkdogfarm.org                         Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria regarding adoptions. Each applicant is considered based on many things including but not limited to breed experience, yard ( visible fence preferred) and other animals in home. We try to avoid dogs with same sex households as pyrs typically do not do well with the same sex. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement  an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $500. for adults over 12 months, $600 for puppies 12 months and younger as well as small breed dogs. Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized. This may involve young puppies be given until a certain age to be altered. All animals are up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. We show animals by appointment only. This is usually done meet outdoors so please dress accordingly. Please email barkingdogfrm@gmail.com with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 11:07 am

Story
Sorrel would be such an awesome dog to train! He’d be a great working dog of some sort! Here he is sitting and waiting before thresholds. While I don’t have the time to do this with every single dog, it’s always amazing when I have time to work with some of them! Sorrel is one of my favorites to train— he’s highly food and toy motivated and learns really fast! I’m NOT a professional dog trainer (as you can see his “heel” isn’t very well-placed) but any kind of basic obedience is better than none! Sorrel can be wild at times, but during our short training sessions, he is always focused and eager to please!!
