Story
Guinness is a truly striking boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. A self-proclaimed fetch professional (PhD included), he’s happiest when he’s outdoors chasing a ball, learning new skills, or enjoying one of his favorite things in the world, snacks. Especially snacks. Guinness has Canine Compulsive Disorder, which means he may spin when he’s feeling excited or stressed. While this is part of who he is, it doesn’t define him. With consistency, and clear guidance, Guinness does wonderfully and is able to focus and thrive. He’s hoping for a calm, structured home where he can be the only animal and enjoy some peaceful downtime. Guinness has previously lived with dog-savvy kids and could be a great fit again with the right family who understands and respects his needs. Highly food-motivated and eager to learn, Guinness is ready to bond with a patient, loving adopter who sees his spins as just a small piece of his very special, lovable whole. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion with plenty of heart (and ball skills), Guinness can’t wait to meet you.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nala is a five year old lab that came to us very pregnant. The owners didnt want to deal with her or her pups. All of her pups went home in early January. Nala just was spayed and now is her turn. Nala is a silly goofy yellow lab. We did dna on one of her pups please see last photo for the pups lineage. Please visit our website for more info on our adoption process and adoption application www.barkdogfarm.org                         Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria regarding adoptions. Each applicant is considered based on many things including but not limited to breed experience, yard ( visible fence preferred) and other animals in home. We try to avoid dogs with same sex households as pyrs typically do not do well with the same sex. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement  an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $500. for adults over 12 months, $600 for puppies 12 months and younger as well as small breed dogs. Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized. This may involve young puppies be given until a certain age to be altered. All animals are up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. We show animals by appointment only. This is usually done meet outdoors so please dress accordingly. Please email barkingdogfrm@gmail.com with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 11:07 am

Story
Sorrel would be such an awesome dog to train! He’d be a great working dog of some sort! Here he is sitting and waiting before thresholds. While I don’t have the time to do this with every single dog, it’s always amazing when I have time to work with some of them! Sorrel is one of my favorites to train— he’s highly food and toy motivated and learns really fast! I’m NOT a professional dog trainer (as you can see his “heel” isn’t very well-placed) but any kind of basic obedience is better than none! Sorrel can be wild at times, but during our short training sessions, he is always focused and eager to please!! Story
Jackson was adopted as a puppy, and found his way back to us years later by unknown circumstances that lead him to be scared on his return. While he is amazing and loving with those he knows, Jackson is slow to trust with strangers in his home. He loves to cuddle and adventure. He loves toys and treats, and is highly motivated to learn. He is amazing with other dogs! He’d do best in a home that is dog experienced and willing to give him time to adjust. Once he knows he’s safe with you(he can be convinced with treats and kindness), he will love you fiercely and forever!
