Story
Luna was born about September 17, 2024 and weighs about 55 pounds.  It was a very sad day when her family received word that the owner of their rental had passed away and the house was going up for sale and they were forced to move.  The tried to find a new place for the family and 2 dogs but no vacant rentals were to be found.  We welcomed Luna to Joyful Rescues and she was wonderful with the other like sized dog she lived with and the cats and she were good snuggle friends.  The kids were as young as 2 and she was always wonderful with them.  She is house trained, enjoys car rides and loves to go for walks on leash which she does well with.  Due to her possible Husky heritage she should have a fenced yard or be leashed.  This pretty blonde girl is here through no fault of her own and we hope to find her another home, a forever home, soon. Luna’s adoption fee has been fully sponsored by a generous friend of Joyful Rescues! 'This beautiful girl reminds me so much of my very first childhood dog—who, ironically, was also named Luna. While I can’t open my home to her right now, I wanted to help her find her perfect match by covering her adoption fee. Thank you, Joyful Rescues, for everything you do!' -Bridgett Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Reba was born about September 26, 2024 and at a normal weight will be about 80 lbs.  She came to us as a Yellow Lab/Australian Shepherd mix and ok...it seems likely.  She is a very pretty girl that is openly friendly and does wonderfully with other dogs and cats alike.  She came to us after her human mom passed away unexpectedly and her human dad, working full time, was unable to handle the 4 large dogs especially in the city environment.  It didn't take long for her to realize more grass and less concrete is a pretty good thing and that swimming is a blast!  Reba has been around visiting children and was fine.  Reba is house trained, does pretty well on leash and does fine in the car even on her two hour journey here to Joyful Rescues.  We are told if she is off leash she may wander and grew up in a fenced yard with a wading pool in the driveway during summer.  Oddly enough Reba has never chewed furniture or shoes, but has destroyed eye glasses, hearing aides and dentures.  Reba has grown up with other dogs and we feel she should go to a home with at least one other dog that will be her buddy.    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_500.00_______. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
Lillie was born February 24, 2017 and came to us much, so much, overweight and is on our Joyful Rescues get out and run around the woods and go for lots of swims spa plan.  At this time we are going to guess her goal weight should be about 100 lbs.  She is a very pretty girl with the absolute sweetest face and she is openly friendly and does wonderfully with other dogs and cats alike.  She came to us after her human mom passed away unexpectedly and her human dad, working full time, was unable to handle the 4 large dogs especially in the city environment.  It didn't take long for her to realize more grass and less concrete is a pretty good thing and that swimming is a blast!  Lillie is all in and will fly through the air to retrieve a toy thrown into the water.  She will even run and fly off the dock with pure abandon!  Lillie has been around visiting children and was fine.  Lillie is house trained, does pretty well on leash unless she is quite excited as she was when she arrived here and can be quite strong.  Lillie does fine in the car even on her two hour journey here to Joyful Rescues.  We are told if she is off leash she should hang around you while you do your outside chores and she did grow up in a fenced yard with a wading pool in the driveway during summer.  Oddly enough Lillie has grown up with other dogs and we feel she should go to a home with at least one other dog that will be her buddy.    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_500.00_______. Story
Meet 5 month old Reuben, friendly, happy go lucky...likes to play of course...he is a lab!!! At 5 months he already weighs close to 50lbs - so he will be a big boy when fully grown. He likes to cuddle, is fine with cats & other dogs, loves being with his humans and is a good boy when meeting new people. He loves going for car rides...and is already pretty mature for age and is learning some commands, and walks nicely on a leash. He has a zest for life and is ready for a new adventure.
