Hi friends! I’m Emma! I’m a very cute and a very new face here at FDHS. I came in as a stray, so the humans don’t know much about my life before I arrived, but everyone here keeps telling me what a good girl I am! I have been LOVING the extra pets, treats, and attention from the staff here. I’m an upbeat, happy-go-lucky girl who LOVES sunshine, smiling, and pretty much everyone I meet. I’m also convinced that I’ve never met a stranger. Seriously, if you have hands, I would like to be your friend. I’ve been nothing but sweet and affectionate with the humans here, and I’m always happy to see them!I’ve been curious about the other dogs here! But the humans haven’t introduced me to any cats yet, so I'm not sure what I think of them. I do pull a little bit on my leash, so I’ll need some help brushing up on my manners. On the bright side, I do keep a nice, clean kennel and have been pretty respectful of my blanket and toys.This place is cool and all but I think I'm ready to find some humans of my very own!**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 60 lbs**

This handsome black Lab mix is Mr. Bernie! He may be a little shy at first, but give him a minute and you’ll see what a total sweetheart he is! Bernie came to FDHS as a stray and was never reclaimed, but he’s quickly been making friends with our staff and showing off his wonderful personality.He’s been well-mannered, easy to handle, and really neutral and calm with the other dogs in our fenced play area. He might even like having a canine companion in his forever home! He had no reaction to our cats, although slow introductions are always recommended.Give this sweet boy a chance and we think you’ll be very glad you did! **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Busch is a 2 to 3yr old neutered male Lab/ Pointer mix. He currently weighs 58 lbs. Busch was pulled from our local shelter when his owner failed to reclaim him. Busch is a great guy. He does know a few commands and a few tricks. He is a happy and friendly guy. He has a moderate energy level and a wonderful temperament. He appears to be house trained. He has been fine with children and other dogs. We are unsure about cats . He is up to date on shots and wormed. He is already neutered. The adoption fee is $250. Willow is a 6yr old spayed female Silver Lab. She weighs 70 lbs. Willow was given to us from a breeder. She is a friendly and outgoing girl. She has discovered toys and loves them. She has pretty good manners for a kennel dog and is willing to learn. Willow deserves a kind and patient home. She will try to understand everything you ask of her. She is willing to give you her heart and trust if you will return that to her. She will need help with house training. She has been fine with children and some other dogs. She prefers male dogs. We are unsure about cats . She is up to date on shots and wormed. She is already spayed. The adoption fee is $300. Chester is 2 1/2 years old. He loves ducks and balls. He has the drive to be a good duck hunting dog. If not he loves playing in the yard and fetching balls or even sticks. He is a good boy with some puppy in him. He wants to be Alfa. This is why he needs a strong male to bond with. He is kennel trained, does not potty in the house or kennel. Loves to sleep at your feet and facing the door. He’s never really liked getting pets on his head. We have been working on this. His past Alfa was able to do it. He also likes car rides. My hope is to find him a loving family that will give him all the attention. I’m not sure how he will do with another male dog in the same house. He would do better if it was female. Best would be him being the only dog.His great grandfather was Jumping Jack Flash who held an award for water jumping. His mom has the hunting side. Best would be to meet him. He is a protector but once he warms up to you he just wants to play or get some belly rubs.
