Story
Courtesy Listing. Petunia is Not at NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue.  Please contact shilohsfund@gmail.com for more information. Meet Petunia, an easygoing, moderately energetic lab mix, aged between 3 and 5 years. With her sleek black coat and expressive “puppy dog” eyes, she’s sublimely sweet and supremely smart. Thriving on the constant companionship of her foster family, Petunia puts the “l” into loving and loyal, and loves nothing more than being by her people’s side. Famously fond of butt scratches and snuggles, she also loves walks, gets along well with her 3 doggy foster friends and does equally well with children. Clearly someone’s pet at one time, Petunia found herself abandoned in West Virginia and is now located in Michigan. Despite having a cleft lip, which only adds to her appeal, it neither limits her ability to eat dry dog food and drink perfectly well nor stifles her spirit for living life to the fullest. Preferring a home without cats, Petunia is fully housetrained, knows how to use a doggy door, and will bloom in a forever home that loves loving as much as she does. Story
Hi, I’m Georgie - a sweet, steady girl with a soft heart, a quiet nature, and a very happy smile. I’m about a year old, 54 pounds, and I’ve already mastered one very important life skill - being easy to be around. I’m kind, calm in my space, and the sort of dog who does not need to be the center of the drama. Even when the dogs around me are putting on a whole performance, I stay pleasant and mind my business. Pretty cool, huh? I’m a Lab mix, which means I’ve got a nice blend of gentle sweetness and bright, loyal companionship. Once I settle in with new dogs, everything is just fine. I’m the kind of girl who seems to take things in stride and would love a home where I can exhale, feel safe, and show you more of my loving personality every day. A little about me - I was found abandoned, tied to a tree. A real nice lady who worked at a shelter took me in for food, warm blankets and I got to meet a very nice vet who gave me a clean bill of health. Now, with that being said, I have grown leaps and bounds since that scared pup tied to a tree. I'm currently in a loving foster home that is helping me learn that there are wonderful people in the world, billions of toys that need my attention, and so many sticks to chew on! I've put my past behind me and ready for my forever home! If you are looking for a young dog well on her way to good manners, a kind spirit, and the kind of face that will make you smile the second you walk in the door, I think we should meet. It sure is nice here, but I’m ready to leave the rescue life behind and trade it for cozy evenings and a family to call my own. Georgie's adoption fee is $275. Story
Hi, I’m Toby, a young yellow Lab with a happy face and a soft heart. I’m about a year and a half old, around 60 pounds right now, and I’ve got that lovable Lab way of making people smile without even trying. I’m a little thin at the moment, but once I fill out, I’m going to be one handsome boy. I’m a very sweet guy who has lived with another dog before, and I tested well with other dogs too, so I may enjoy having a canine friend in my new home. I’d love a family that sees the wonderful dog I already am and is excited to help me settle in, get to a healthy weight, and enjoy all the good things ahead. I can already picture being your loyal sidekick, walking by your side and greeting you with that big Lab smile. Toby's adoption fee is $275. Story
Sweet and Shy Phil Needs a Loving Home Phil is an incredibly sweet boy who is a bit shy but full of love to give. He adores attention and loves to snuggle up and watch TV with you all day long! Phil gets along wonderfully with other dogs and thrives in the company of a playful, friendly canine companion. Having just graduated from our Paws-In-Prison program, Phil has learned all kinds of manners and obedience. He completed two sessions to help him overcome his shyness. While he has made great progress, he remains timid and would benefit from a calm, understanding home that has the patience and time to help him explore the world and overcome his shyness. **Phil Needs:** - A calm environment - A second playful dog in the home - Older kids, calm kids, or no kids - A physical fenced yard due to his shyness Phil was extensively socialized as a pup, but he remains shy despite this. However, his lovable Labrador traits shine through! **Phil's Traits:** - Sweet - Goofy - Food motivated - LOVES people - Playful - Good with dogs - Loves water Phil is ready to find a family that will understand and cherish his gentle nature.
