Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Noel. This pup came to DASH with her 2 siblings from being on the euthanasia list at a rural shelter. All of her siblings have been adopted and she is still waiting for her forever home. We have no idea why she is still with us as she is a wonderful dog. She is a typical puppy, very playful, affectionate and loves playing with toys and other dogs. She is currently in our DASH Prison Training Program and has mastered all of her basic commands. She is house broken and crate trained and walks well on a leash. her one quirk is that she likes to eat anything that can be found laying on the ground or floor, so her new family will need to continue to work with her on that. Being a large breed mix (we don't know what the actual mix is), she is going to need a fairly active family that can take her on adventures and keep her active. An apartment may not be the best fit for her. She does well with other dogs of all sizes, but has not been cat tested. She has also not been introduced to children but she has already proven to love everyone she meets! (FTA: Noel is a part of our Foster-to-Adopt program. If you are interested in bringing her home to test how she would acclimate to your environment, apply today!)   !  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 28, 2026, 11:50 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Laney! If you're looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion to keep you smiling, Laney may be the perfect match! This beautiful Shepherd/Lab mix is full of personality and is always ready for her next adventure. Laney loves spending time outdoors no matter the season. Whether she's running around the yard, playing with her favorite chew toys, or wrestling with her foster dog siblings, she's happiest when she's active. While she enjoys just about everything outside, she's decided the kiddie pool isn't for her! When meeting new people, Laney can be a little shy at first, but once she knows you're a friend, her affectionate and playful side quickly shines through. She's crate trained, house trained, and eager to learn. Like many young dogs, she sometimes gets so excited to see her people that she forgets her manners and jumps up to say hello—but she's making great progress with consistent training. Laney is also working on her leash skills. She can become excited and vocal when she sees other dogs or people during walks, so she'll do best with a family that is committed to continuing her positive reinforcement training. The good news? She's highly food-motivated (especially if veggies are involved!), making training both fun and rewarding. Laney has not been tested with cats and can be a little unsure around young children, so a home with older, dog-savvy kids or adults who can help build her confidence may be the best fit. With her intelligence, playful spirit, and loving heart, Laney has so much potential. If you're looking for an active best friend who will thrive with love, patience, and continued guidance, Laney is ready to become a cherished member of your family.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 28, 2026, 11:50 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Mabel. Mabel is a young girl who is a Labrador mix. She is a very affectionate girl who gets attached to her person quite easily. Mabel is currently in the DASH prison program where she is working on becoming the best girl for her future family. She is housetrained, walks well on a leash, and working on learning basic manners. Mabel is currently working on her separation anxiety as she is very attached to her person and will bark in crate until they return. Loud noises also makes her anxious and is also working on this at her current placement. She enjoys playing with toys, loves to get all the attention she can get and paying with other dogs.  Due to her current placement she has not been introduced to cats or to children of any age so proper introductions are needed for both. If you think you have room in your family for Mabel then apply today!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 28, 2026, 11:50 am

Story
Meet Blitz! I was found abandoned in the woods by a wonderful group of Cub Scouts who took me in when I was scared and hungry. Now that I'm healthy and full of love, I'm ready to find my forever home!  I’m an affectionate, cuddly pup who adores spending time with my humans—especially if it means lap time and belly rubs! I love playing with all kinds of toys, especially tennis balls and stuffed animals. I’m good with other dogs and enjoy lounging in the yard on sunny days.  I know my basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and I’m potty trained. While I might be a bit shy around new people, once I get to know you, I’ll be your most loyal companion. My foster mom says I’m a “Heinz 57” dog, meaning I’m a little bit of everything!  I’m up-to-date on my shots and neutered, ready to join a loving family.
