You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Please welcome Pluto to DASH! He is good with other dogs but prefers to be an only child. He gets along with cats and is currently in our DASH Prison Program learning his basic commands, crate training, potty training and walking on a leash. He seems to be doing fantastic with all of those things, and his new family will need to continue with those as he transitions to his new forever home. He has not been kid tested, but with his mix of lab and chihuahua, we feel like he would be a great addition to a family. However, he can be touch sensitive at times so younger children would not be preferred. He would also do very well with an active senior or single person looking for an adventurous snuggle bug. Pluto is protective of his food and toys, but only with other dogs. His trainer says he is very loving and receptive to encouragement. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Cambria  is a very sweet, beautiful girl with very cool coloring and markings!  She loves to run around and play with her foster sister and her toys.      She loves squeaky toys and high-quality chew toys. She loves to cuddle next to you after she is done running around getting her energy out. She loves to cuddle next to you or she will even cuddle up in her puppy bed and nap. She will also go into her crate for nap time. She will need a little variety of toys to keep her busy and entertained.   We are guessing she is a hound/lab mix, and our best guess is she will grow up to be a medium sized girl. Her mother was found as a stray and had eight puppies. They were all very lucky to get into rescue to all live their best lives now.        She is doing well with crate training and will sleep throughout the night most nights. I make it cozy in there and it should be a positive cozy space for her.    She is doing very well with potty training and will need a family with patience and consistency to continue her training. I am using the bell training method, and it is going well, but will need to be reinforced continuously with treats and positive reinforcement.   She is an active girl and will need a lot of exercise, walks and park time. She will be the perfect adventure girl! She would love hiking and park time with her new family.   She will need continued socializing and play time with other pups! She would LOVE doggie daycare to get structured play and play time. We’ve had Riley for about 7 years (her age is estimated). We adopted her from Canine Companion while living in Maryland. She is a sweet, loyal girl who bonds closely with her people and thrives on routine. As Riley has gotten older, she has become uncomfortable around other dogs and would do best as the only pet. She has also shown signs of stress when small children get too close to her personal space, including a recent near-nip. Because of this, we believe she would be safest and happiest in a calm, adult household or with older, dog-savvy children. Riley is house-trained, crate-trained, and very food-motivated (she LOVES treats!). She has been a cherished part of our family since the beginning of our marriage, and this decision is made solely out of concern for the safety and well-being of our children and other pets. We are committed to finding Riley a loving, responsible home where she can feel secure and truly thrive.

RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
