Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/G5d1Z7b-ae0 Jabarkus is an 11 month old sweetheart who almost died in a high kill shelter just because they had too many dogs and black dogs often get overlooked. He weighs about 45 lbs and is an absolute angel. Great with people, dogs of all sizes, and with cats. He walks well on the leash and does well in the crate. He is the perfect dog. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Meet Flying Nun — the holy grail of good girls, the patron saint of zoomies, and quite possibly the only nun who believes “thou shalt chase tennis balls” is one of the commandments. Flying Nun is a divine combination of fun, fluff, and faith (mainly faith that you’re holding treats). She loves car rides — her version of spreading the gospel, one tail wag at a time — and she’ll bless you with her calm “sit” and heavenly “lay down” before showering you in unconditional love. This girl’s ministry is simple: bring joy, spread love, and nap on laps. She’s great with other dogs, incredibly social, and friendly with everyone she meets — basically, she’s a saint in fur form. So if your soul needs lifting (or just your mood), come meet Flying Nun. She’s ready to soar straight into your heart.

Story
Meet Mystic! Mystic is a sweet and playful 10–12 week old female Lab/Pit mix who’s ready to bring some puppy magic into your life! She’s a typical happy pup — full of energy, curiosity, and love. Mystic enjoys meeting new people and makes friends easily wherever she goes. She’s crate trained and working hard on her house training — such a smart girl! In her foster home, Mystic has already started learning some basic commands like sit, come, and off. She’s eager to please and picks up new things quickly, especially when treats are involved! Mystic lives with other dogs and gets along great with all of them. She loves to run and chase the ball, so a fully fenced yard would be required for her playful energy and zoomies. She has not lived with children or cats, so we are unsure how she would do around them. Overall, Mystic is a well-rounded puppy with a bright future ahead. She’ll make a wonderful addition to a family ready to keep up with her puppy adventures and continue her training journey! Mystic is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations microchipped and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $400. If interested in Mystic, please follow the link below for her adoption application. Note: applicants must live within one hour of Toledo, Ohio http://www.dogworksohio.com/adoption-application.html

Story
This is Teddy. He is a great dog, has a lot of energy and has not had the proper training to keep it in check. He jumps when people walk in the door, etc, but is never mean. He is 3 1/2 years old, neutered and potty trained. He's also up to date on shots and microchipped. He does go in a crate when we leave the house because if not he will tear things up or get into the trash if able. He currently lives with another dog and a cat. He does very well with both although my other dog gets annoyed that he wants to play so much and snaps sometimes. He likes to "pretend" chase the cat but has never hurt him or even tried to. He has gotten a couple squirrels. I got Teddy as a grief dog after my mom passed and didn't properly think it through. Unfortunately, he has been neglected and not been walked enough or had enough time spent with him to correct the minor behavior issues and I am too burnt out. He needs someone that will spend time with him and take care of him like he deserves.

Story
Charlie is a really good, chill boy that just doesn’t get along with another dog in our household. Charlie was born on March 20th of 2021 and came home with us in May. He is amazing with children and is extremely patient. He love snuggles! Was taught “soft” to softly take treats. Loves running around outside and greeting people. Has never really cared for dog toys. He does very well with verbal communication, no physical discipline.
