Story
Rocky is a lovable boy who lives in the moment. He is a goofy but challenging pup who pushes every limit he can! He will need a firm, patient owner who will set boundaries and consistently stand by them. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. He is a powerful puller on leash and does best with a harness. He likes car rides and is crate trained. Due to his size, it's recommended that children in the home be 10 and older. He will chase the kitties in his foster home, so a dog savvy or no kitties is best. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, Heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Story
Knox is a loving and loyal dog and it is with broken hearts that we are looking to rehome him. We have another dog and cats and despite our best efforts, we have not been able to integrate him safely into our family. He was adopted from the humane society and we have had him since he was 12 weeks old. He is 8 months now. He is an energetic boy who loves to swim and play. He loves to get pets and is extremely loyal, He knows many commands and is food motivated which helps with training. Kennel trained. He has some food aggression issues that we have been working with him on and will happily pass along the things that have been working. He also shows some resource guarding, but we believe this is something that is improving and can be overcome with patience, continuous training and maturity. We think he is best as an only pet and no young kids. Our son is 13 and he is good with him. We want Knox to find the best forever home. Reach out if you want to know more.

Scooby💙 Fostered in Hamilton 10 month old male/neutered Adoption fee $500 Lab mix Re-introducing Scooby! I’m a certified handsome Rez dog 😏 and I’m on the lookout for my forever home!🥰 I LOVE going on walks with my foster family (especially with the kiddos!), and I’m also a fan of hanging out with my doggie buddies. I don’t pull too much on walks, but I’m still perfecting my "calm and collected" walking style. Scooby is neutered, microchipped, housetrained, leash trained and up to date on his vaccines. Scooby is a sweet and eager-to-please rescue pup who’s made great strides in his journey and is still waiting his perfect forever home. This smart boy has learned to sit, shake paw, and even lay down when his hips are feeling up to it. He’s especially treat-motivated—just say “wanna treat?” and he’ll come running! 🏃🏼‍♀️ Scooby is still working on some puppy habits, like chewing, so his new family will need to keep things out of reach and continue with positive reinforcement. But he’s come a long way and shows so much potential with guidance and love 💕 If you're looking for a clever, affectionate companion who’s learning more every day, Scooby is 1000% your perfect match.

Story
Pongo / Neutered Male / 6 Months / Lab mix? / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: 13+ / Location: East Garafraxa Meet Pongo (again!) This handsome boy was adopted earlier this year but sadly returned just a month later. Pongo is a truly special pup who needs an equally special home to match. At just 6 months old and 45 lbs, Pongo is full of energy, smarts, and heart. While we were told he might be a Border Collie/Lab mix, we aren’t entirely sure, what we do know is that he won’t get too much bigger and that he’s 100% adorable. Pongo can be nervous in new situations or around unfamiliar people, but he’s been working so hard to overcome this. He even spent several weeks with our friends at stylek9dogtraining, where he learned amazing skills that will set him up for success. His future family will continue his journey with a few follow up classes, already covered in his adoption fee, because consistency is key for this sensitive boy. What makes Pongo amazing: Walks beautifully on leash, calmly and politely (even sitting at stops!) Crate trained & fully housebroken Snuggle king who always wants to be near his people Playful, smart, and food motivated, he learns fast! Loves doggy friends, is good with cats, and would thrive with or without another dog in the home Because of his nervous nature, Pongo would do best with older, dog savvy kids. A yard to run, play, and chase squirrels would be a dream for him. To help him settle in, Pongo will even come with his special “place bed” included in his adoption fee, we want to give him every chance to succeed. Pongo is sweet, loving, and so ready for a family who will understand his past and nurture his bright future. Could that be you? https://forms.gle/gMSrMCVFqQ3fb5gN8

Story
Blaze is an 8–12 month old Labrador mix bursting with energy, personality, and endless love to give. This goofy, tail-wagging guy wants nothing more than to be by your side. He already knows sit and down, but sometimes his excitement takes the wheel — he’s still a puppy at heart! With consistent training, patience, and plenty of positive reinforcement, Blaze will blossom into the polite, confident companion he’s destined to be. This sweet boy may sometimes show submissive urination when greeting new friends — totally normal for young, eager pups — and it should improve as he feels more secure. He absolutely loves other dogs, though he tends to introduce himself like a kid running full speed into recess. With slow, supervised meet-and-greets, he could thrive with a canine buddy. Blaze is currently fostering with a well matched resident dog in his foster home and they are great buddies! Blaze is a very enthusiastic eater and came to us a little grabby with food, so he’ll need an owner to continue to help him build good habits. Hand-feeding sessions, working for his meals, and offering lots of trades will help him learn impulse control and grow his confidence. He has had great success in his foster with no issues so he is well on his way! In his new home, feeding time should be structured to prevent any resource-guarding before it starts — setting him up for success from day one as his foster has already been doing. His love of food also makes him highly trainable! He is food motivated and is so happy to learn new skills with reward positive based methods. Blaze is active, smart, and always ready for a challenge. He’ll shine with daily mental and physical outlets — think enrichment toys, brain games, training sessions, and outdoor adventures galore. If you have the energy, patience, and commitment to guide this bright young pup, Blaze could be your perfect adventure partner. Give him structure, love, and fun, and he’ll give you his whole heart in return.
