F | 4Y | 19.5 KG | Labrador Mix | Spayed | UTD on shots | Good with dogs, cats and kids | Medium energy | Housebroken | Crate trained | Social butterfly Help this beauty find her permanent home! Our 4.5 year old social butterfly Assia is looking for a loving, caring home. Assia loves nature, especially taking short walks, exploring through sniffs, and even just lounging in the sun. Assia is a people’s dog, preferring to be around humans, even during her nap time. An obedient girl, Assia is an easy walker, who loves to explore things as she walks and protective about her toys, especially around other dogs. She loves a game of fetch and would sometimes even bring you a toy to convince you to play with her. Though not a fan of the crate but being the good girl that she is, Assia tends to stay calm when placed in it, eventually dozing off. Her past experiences make her a little wary of sudden movements, car rides, people walking behind her and loud unexpected noises but with comforting words, she calms down quickly. Though she takes her time to befriend new people, time and patience yield wonderful interaction for this mature lady. Embodying pure love and affection, Assia is looking for a home that will give her comfort and in return she promises to become the perfect companion. A few tidbits about Assia: -Investment of a little time will be required by her permanent family to help her build her confidence and become more independent -Assia is a very curious girl and loves to learn -A true cuddler Assia loves socializing with her friends If Assia sounds like your perfect companion, please apply for her at the adoption link below.

🖤ADOPT LANA🖤 F | 3Y | 24.9 KG | Spayed | UTD on shots | Dog Tested | Not kids tested | No cats | Low to medium energy This girl loves to chill! Floppy chiller would be perfect to describe our 3 year old Lana. Lover of an easy routine, she loves her naps and a couple of walks in between the entire day. The more you win her trust, the more she opens up and shows the cute, floppy, silly and adorable side to her personality. Lana is steadily growing stronger and healthier and has made incredible progress in her training especially recognition and recall skills. Though she takes some time to get familiar around people and prefers not sharing the limelight with other dogs, Lana is a fairly easy to train dog with a gentle personality and an intelligent mind. She settles down very quickly and thoroughly enjoys her meals. She is still getting used to loud noises and fast moving things towards her but with a little more training and patience, she will overcome these challenges soon. She is a brave one after all! An extremely good listener, Lana is the perfect companion for a family/individual who work from home and can shower her with cuddles and affection from time to time. Story
F | 2Y | Spayed | 20 KG | Mixed Breed | Medium energy | Dog tested | No kids/cats | Obedience trained | Goofy | In care 190 days This sweet girl has been with us in boarding since October. Chicka is a very sweet and loveable little lady. She takes a little bit to warm up to new people but with a proper introduction and some patience, she’ll be your best buddy in no time. Chicka can be fear-reactive when it comes to meeting new people. Before introducing new humans into Chicka’s life, it is important to do the following to ensure she’s set up for success: 1. Allow her to fully decompress, and become comfortable in her new environment 2. Establish a leadership role in her life, she needs to be comfortable and fully trust her new handlers. It’s important she knows that it’s not her job to protect herself, you got her! 3. Meeting in a neutral space, in a neutral environment. If you must have people over while she’s still getting used to her new life, no sweat! Chicka is crate trained, give her a safe space to chill out on her own with a frozen kong treat and do your thing! She’s got such a sassy little personality, she has all of us giggling every day. She makes the funniest little snorts and gremlin noises. She loves to run, play, and go on adventures with her humans! We would say she’s medium energy. She loves to have a good time but isn’t against a lazy day snuggling either. Chicka walks well on a leash and has her basic obedience down thanks to lots of friends along the way who’ve invested time into her. She has made lots of dog friends in her time with us, with a proper introduction she makes friends very quickly! We have not had the opportunity to test her with cats or children but due to her bouncy bully energy, we wouldn’t recommend her going into a home with either. If you’re interested in taking this sweet girl in for an adoption trial (FTA) please fill out an application! Apply here: https://www.barkatthemoonrescue.ca/dog-adoption-application

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT ARLETH F | 4Y | 21.6 KG | Labrador Retriever Mix | Spayed | UTD on shots | Dog and cat tested | Not kid tested | Medium energy | Sister to #BATMAlumni Lyana/Karin/Meera | Smart & Obedient Arleth has had a rough start to life, she was found extremely malnourished and was diagnosed with TVT when she was rescued. TVT is a sexually transmitted malignant tumor that can spread between unaltered stray dogs - this is one of the many reasons why it is so important to spay/neuter your pet! Arleth has completed treatment for TVT and has made a full recovery, she is now ready to find her forever home in Canada. She is a very happy girl that loves to cuddle. She is would be extremely content to sit down next to you and receive a good petting session. She doesn't need to burn much energy and would do well in a home that is more quiet. She is an independent girl who will easily do her own thing when left alone. She gets along great with human and other dogs. She is very smart and obedient, so she should learn new commands quickly. Arleth is a noble and loving girl who should be able to adapt to any living situation. This girl deserves a second chance at life and is ready for her new Canadian adventure. To foster-to-adopt (2 week adoption trial) Arleth fill out the adoption application via the link below.
