Story
Meet Dante When Dante first came to us through the dog warden, he was in rough shape — his skin was severely irritated, and much of his fur was missing from his back. Despite how uncomfortable he must have been, Dante’s gentle spirit still shone through. With time, care, and lots of love, he’s made an incredible recovery — and now this sweet boy is ready to find a family of his own. Dante is estimated to be between 1–2 years old and has the perfect mix of youthful energy and loving affection. He’s ready for long walks, belly rubs, and the chance to finally experience what it means to be truly home. If you’d like to give Dante the fresh start he deserves, visit www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form today!

Story
Pup (estimated 10 years old) came to us after his owners were no longer able to properly care for him, and while his world changed overnight, his heart never did. He has been nothing but loving, gentle, and endlessly sweet to every person he has met. He craves attention — the soft kind, the “talk to me while I wag my tail” kind, the “sit with me for a minute longer” kind. And he deserves all of it.Pup also seems to get along well with the other dogs he has met here, making him an easygoing companion for a home with another calm pup.Pup is ready for a family who will cherish him for the rest of his days, every single moment will mean the world to him.If you’ve ever wanted to make a real difference, senior adoption is where the magic happens.Pup is waiting.

Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children 16 years and older.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? No. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Dusty – Small in Size, Big in Personality, and Wild for WaterAt just 40 pounds and a year old, Dusty is a compact little Labrador mix with golden-dipped paws, a spring-loaded zoomie engine, and a very real obsession with puddles, hoses, and kiddie pools. The moment water is involved, Dusty lights up. He splashes, prances, paws, and spins—pure joy on four legs.Once his energy is out, he’ll trot over, tail up and eyes bright, to say hello in his own time. And when he does? It’s magic. What Makes Dusty So Delightful:- A water-loving little dynamo who lives for puddles and splash time- The cutest paws in the shelter—they look like he stepped in gold- Curious, funny, and so expressive once he feels safe- Energetic and independent, but still makes time for his people- Likes other dogs with the right match and introWhat Dusty’s Looking For:- A home with kids 16+ who respect his space- A patient adopter who will let him come around at his own pace- Someone who appreciates a little independence in their pup- A yard with a kiddie pool—or at least a good muddy trail after the rainDusty isn’t the type to leap into your arms on day one. He likes to observe, sniff, consider. He may ask for space at first, and that’s okay—he’s just learning to trust. But if you give him the time to warm up, he’ll reward you with joy, loyalty, and some of the best puddle-dancing you’ve ever seen.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Dusty has made notable progress. He prefers to interact with people on his terms and is reserved around unfamiliar individuals, sometimes displaying defensive behaviors. He was tolerant of handling but required treats to engage.Dusty is naturally curious and takes time to explore his environment and the people around him before fully trusting them, which is typical for his age. He startled easily and showed tense body language; he hard-stared, waiting to see what we would do. Invitations to play made him fearful,

[The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Leroy – Distinguished Gentleman with a Playful SpiritAt 9 years old, Leroy is proof that age is just a number. This Labrador retriever mix may be a senior, but he’s still got plenty of pep in his step and a whole lot of love to give.Who is Leroy? Leroy is friendly, energetic, and endlessly curious. He can be hesitant with new people, but he warms up quickly and soon becomes a loyal shadow—especially if you’re handing out butt scratches (his favorite!). He’s got that classic Lab mix energy: goofy, affectionate, and always ready to play. Some of his favorite things include:- Playing fetch and tug-of-war with his toys- Walking between your legs to ask for scratches- Exploring the outdoors with enthusiasm- Showing off his “sit,” “come,” and even “shake”Leroy can be a little impolite sometimes—like grabbing treats too eagerly or counter-surfing when he’s curious—but with patience and consistency, he learns quickly. He may body-block if you reach for his food dish, but he responds to redirection and settles down.Leroy Would Do Best In a Home That Offers:- Kids around 10+ who can handle his energy and size- Possible canine companions (introductions on a case-by-case basis)- Structure, redirection, and patience for his silly antics- A mix of playtime and calm companionshipHe’s stable around everyday sights and sounds, recovering quickly from startles, and he calms nicely once play is over. Leroy may be a dignified older gent, but he’s still very much young at heart. ---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Leroy is an older dog with a playful energy. Initially hesitant to engage with our stranger, he quickly warmed up but frequently shifted his attention back to me. His approach to the tester dog was much ruder. Despite showing play signals, his focus was intense, but I was able to redirect him with vocal cues. After some time outside, both dogs interacted better. He eagerly explored t

Story
Aria, Bastian and Bailey are 10-week-old (est DOB 10/29/25) , beautiful shep mixes pups that were born in a drainage pipe. Thanks to some good Samaritans, these babies were able to safely be retrieved. Unfortunately, a wrecker yard owner nearby claimed mom and refused to let us help her too, but they did agree to let us take the puppies. The laws of Texas are definitely unfair. The mom appeared to be a sheepdog mix; dad is the milkman. We believe they will stay under 60 lbs once full grown as their paws are not super big. We do not know if there were more puppies or what happened to them. The 3 pups that the good Samaritans were able to find, have been to the vet and are quite healthy! Aria -Female – Brindle/Black – 8.6 lbs as of 1/6/26 Bailey – Female – Brown/Black – 9.8 lbs as of 1/6/26 Bastian – Male – Black/Brindle – 13.4 lbs as of 1/6/26 These pups are fun, full of life and looking for their future adventure partners. They absolutely love their toys! They would love a whole toy basket of their own. LOVE other dogs and very sociable. They have the best personalities and are all around love bugs. They would make ideal dogs to go to dog parks, doggy daycare and just be around all sorts of dogs with no issues! Once they’re done playing, they love to cuddle. Working on house training and will master it with time. They are VERY smart dogs, be careful! They’ll outwit the best. These furbabies are quite active and would do best in a more active home. They would be WONDERFUL with children. SUPER Playful Gentle Very Happy Loves everyone and everything Curious Smart Affectionate Adventurous If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, friendly, gentle, super playful, adventure buddy, please consider adopting one of these babies. These 3 pups will be: current on Bordatella, have at least 2 sets of parvo/distemper vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped, negative fecal, have a clean bill of health from the veterinarian prior to adoption and includes transport cost from Texas to the East Coast. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 week: Albany, NY Wells and Brattleboro, VT Willington, CT Port Chester, NY Dayon and Akron, OH Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ White Marsh, MD and Falls Church, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home.
