Story
Name: Caruso Age: 4 months (DOB 9/22/2025) Breed: Lab/Cattle Dog Mix Size: 24 pounds currently (expected 50lb+) Special Needs: confident adopters. Caruso is going to take more work than a normal puppy to integrate into a new house. Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Caruso has a story not that uncommon among many dogs in South Mississippi. Him and his siblings were part of an "accidental litter" to a female that was not spayed. His human parents loved them with all their might and tried to find them homes but unfortunately were unsuccessful. When they came to HSSM they were scared, unsocialized puppies already 20-35 pounds at just 3.5 months. HSSM staff has been hard at work helping them overcome their "stranger danger" and socializing them with people and other dogs. Due to Caruso's less than ideal start, he will take someone who will be patient with him as he grows and learns to trust new people. Once he warms up, though, he is an energetic puppy who loves to run and play. With a little bit of time and patience we are sure he'd grow into an amazing companion! Caruso's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Caruso please fill out our online application here: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 . A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. For further information, please first fill out the application referenced above. **Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.

Story
Rex was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He is a sweet guy that is a typical exuberant lab! He is 90 pounds and sometimes forgets how big he really is. Rex arrived at the shelter with hair loss with a secondary skin infection due to fleas. He also had a bad ear infection. Rex has since undergone treatment for everything and although his hair isn`t grown back all the way it is starting to! Rex is a happy guy that has lived with other dogs. He also lived with children, but he can be a little much for those that are not used to being around large, excited dogs. It is recommended that Rex go to a home without cats. Rex does know sit, shake, and down! He loves getting treats and would love to find his loving forever home soon! He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested (negative), and microchipped. Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License #2090
