Story
James River-Lab/Red Heeler male, ~ 2 yr. (Oct. 2025) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. River came to Rescue when his owner could no longer care for him. He was left with a Trainer who put JR in a Prison Training Program. He has done terrific! He is now housetrained and crate trained. He's had basic obedience training and knows husbandry and grooming. JR has been described as a medium energy dog, but not a couch potato. He will enjoy walks, hikes and then watching TV with you. At the Prison, he's been with all kinds of dogs and is great with everyone. Super friendly. He's not had a chance to live with cats and children, so that is unknown. But he certainly is bred to be a food family pet. He shares his toys and food, too! JR's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Please include your phone number and location for future reference. From Liz-head Trainer in the Prison Program. He’s not a couch potato of course when you asked me their energy level I have to base it off of what I enjoy and what I like and what I’m living with I say he’s mid range. I think he would like hiking. I think he would like camping. I think he would like to go for walks around the neighborhood, he’s pretty happy go lucky the trainers really like him. He’s cute as a button, but I would not recommend him for someone. Who’s a senior citizen. That’s not in good shape and wants to get out again he is definitely not a couch, potato dog. Yes, he can lie calmly. Yes, he can play with his toys, but he saw someone you know he’s young.

Story
Fanny-Lab/Terrier mix male puppy. ~ 9 mo. (OJan. 2025) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Fanny came to Rescue from a high kill big city shelter, as a little puppy, with her momma and sister Cocoa (the Princess) . Momma and the babies, only 5 wk. old were on the list to lose their life to euthanasia the next day. This was happening only because the shelter is way overwhelmed with dogs needing homes. The little family went into a rescue foster home and has proved to be such sweet puppies. Now weaned and ready for her new home. Fanny will enjoy an active lifestyle, being an excellent hiking or walking partner. Her foster mom says she's outgoing, and a very smart little girl. She will mature about 40#, we estimate. She plays well with her siblings and the other foster dogs, running and playing take up most of his day. Best of all, she loves people and wants to interact with her humans. Fanny's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption .
