Story
Looking for a pup that fills your daily sweet intake without the calories?! Candy is your girl  Candy is a 3 y/o, 60 lbs, lab mix. She is gentle with young hoomans. Most recently she did not socialize with any other animals, but is working slowly to reacclimate with dogs. We were able to retest with cats and she ignored them. Candy is a smart girl. She is both house and crate trained. Don’t let that fool you though, she enjoys a good nap, or two. Candy is great in the car as well! Candy had surgery as a result of bladder stones not treated by her previous owners. While she will remain on her prescription food, she should not experience this severity of stones moving forward. Candy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and fostered in Harrisburg, PA New Oxford PA 17350; LIC #9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/10299Hi! My name is Lady Bug and I’m part of the transport that came to OPH 5/17/24. I’m guessed to be a Labrador Retriever Mixed Breed dog. I am an 11-month-old girl and weigh about 45lbs. I can't wait to get to my forever home! Is that with you? If so, apply today!I am new to my foster home, but here are a few things about me so far:- I enjoy meeting people and like to give kisses. My happy tail is always wagging! - I think treats are awesome and I've learned how to sit to get a treat. - I think toys are pretty cool and I am learning how to play with them. - I appear to be fully potty trained. No accidents at all! - I settle down quickly in my crate and sleep quietly all night long. - I get along well with the resident dog and am very interested in the cat (but she doesn't want to be friends).- I like exploring new places in my foster home and backyard.I'm in search of my forever family, who can provide me with a loving home where I can thrive. I am young, so I need someone who can invest time in training me how to be an amazing girl when I grow up. Foster mom says I am off to a great start. If you are looking for a new family member to spoil and love, apply today - I won’t be available for long! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read more about heartworm disease here here

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13376This sweet sweet boy Tippy is a 4 year old, 35lb, guessed to be Iab mix. After a rough start, he is desperate to find his forever home. He lost a leg 2 years ago due to a gunshot wound. He is a great dog with a sad past who needs a soft place to land, and will become your best friend!Tippy is fully potty trained and, even though he has three legs, he can run, jump, play, climb stairs, and do everything a 4 legged dog can do. He is great when walking on a leash except he does tend to forget his manners when he spots a bunny that needs to be chased! Tippy loves to play, walk and visit the dog park. He loves going on daily two-miles walks with his foster and will most likely require similar walks in the future or a daily romping outside to get his energy out. Yet he's a couch potato while you're working and hanging out at home. He is great with other dogs and people. He doesn't mind spending some time in his crate, and he even puts his toys away in his crate....he just doesn't like the door closed. He does not currently sleep in his crate. He much prefers to sleep near his humans. He absolutely loves the car (will hop right in) and has just learned how to play with toys. He has also learned the fun of chasing a ball.Tippy would be an extremely loyal companion to someone who works from home, or is retired. He is pretty much a follower who sticks with his favorite human. Although Tippy is perfectly fine outside in public areas, he would do best living with no other dogs. Although progress is being made each day, he arrived very thin and is very food focused.

Story
We adopted Luna from the Antietam Humane Society in June of 2023. Her birthday is January 29, 2023. Luna is incredibly energetic and fun-loving. She loves to snuggle and play outside. As much as we love her, we believe she would be a better fit in a home where more opportunities for play and exercise can be provided. Although we do have a fenced in backyard, we feel she isn't happy without more room to move about and other animals to play with. She does very well with other dogs. She loves to play with our cats. She plays great with our 13-year-old child. She is not aggressive or mean in any way, just very energetic. She has been through 2 sessions of formal dog training and knows basic commands. She is crate trained for bedtime.
