Story
Luke is a very lovable boy. He is just like a toddler boy. He likes big construction trucks, watching golfers in our neighborhood, and ALL his toys. However, he has gotten very protective over me and his family. I can no longer take him on walks. He’s too big and muscular and overpowers me. He aggressively runs towards other dogs just to see them. I live in an older golf course neighborhood. He needs a large area where he can run and be trained properly. He was taken to a trainer as a puppy, so he does well with basic commands.

Story
Benny is a great dog! He's smart and great with other dogs, cats, kids, and just everyone! He was a total mess when he was rescued.  Skinny and walking funny, we fattened him up and took him in for xrays and a ortho consult and to be neutered.   Lucky for Benny, he is negative for heartworms and can live a normal dog life, however... he could probably benefit from an FHO surgery on one hip.  We want to provide the surgery for him, but his current foster isn't able to commit to the after care required, so we really need to adopt Benny to his forever family and then set up the surgery! Because we are foster based, we require an approved application before a meet and greet can be scheduled. We think that is fair for our fosters so every meet and greet can has the potential to result in an immediate adoption. Benny is a courtesy post and his rescuer will select his next family. Please complete the adoption application from our website. We work with many rescues and strive to find every rescued dog in our care a great home. Sometimes that means transferring that pet to another location where adoption may be more likely. We currently have partners in New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.  If you are interesting in meeting any of our pets, the process is to complete an application.  It can be downloaded as a pdf document from our website and submitted by email to WindyRidgeRescue@gmail.com  as a scanned document or as photos OR can be completed entirely online. Both links are in the header of our website.   Because we are foster based, we require an approved application to schedule a meet and greet. We feel that is fair to our fosters and rescues so every meet and greet can result in an adoption.  &#226&#128&#139We do not have set adoption fees for dogs, but hope adopters will donate generously so we can rescue more. The medical care for every dog can easily exceed the adoption donation.  Average adoption fees for dogs in the area range from $175 up to $450.  We ask for a minimum adoption donation of $50 for cats regardless of age.  Each cat is up to date on vaccinations, dewormer, and microchipped.  Larger donations are always welcome so we can rescue more.  Medical care for each cat easily exceeds the minimum donation.   &#226&#128&#139As with every rescue, our resources are limited and the need for rescue help is unlimited. Your generosity helps us to rescue more.   &#226&#128&#139Adopting or fostering for a rescue frees up a space where a new rescue can reside.  &#226&#128&#139If you can't adopt or foster, than please consider donating.  May 19, 2023, 2:59 pm
