Story
Hi my name is Jingles! You would think with a name like that I would be loud and noisy and boisterous but I'm not really any of those things. I'm 6 years old and for all of that time I lived in kind of a scary place so I kept very quiet and tried to make myself very small. If I could have made myself invisible I would have. As quiet as I am I am equally stubborn. I like keeping to the places that are familiar to me (like my kennel or really close to the shelter building) but the volunteers are slowly working on building my confidence so I can open up my world and enjoy things like walking the trails and running in the playyard. I might be ready to go for a car ride too. I am getting there but boy would I thrive with a patient person or couple that would be willing to let me learn to trust at my own pace. I will get there I know it and the volunteers know it. I really need someone that will "take a chance" on me. I have so, so, so much love to give but where I lived before there was no one to give it to so I kept all my love hidden and to myself. I don't want to do that anymore. I want to feel safe enough to give my love away and have it returned back to me by a special family. If you think you might be patient enough to give me a chance please inquire about me or better yet come in to meet me. I might not show it but I will be very excited (inside) to meet you. Lots of Love, Jingles...Adopt from MCASAll of our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive), microchipped, and current on all vaccinations. We are open 7 days a week 12pm to 5pm for adoptions, no appointment necessary!Adoption Center: 931-375-1402If you would like more information about this dog, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Kim, at kraffauf@gmail.com

Story
Meet Buster - whoa this is a big, big goofy boy. He is good natured and happy and goofy and a lot. The term extra is made for an 87 lb, 1 year old chocolate lab like Buster. He is learning how tone down the goof factor just a smidge (we don't want to dim that amazing personality) but we do want him to learn some manners like, oh we don't know, walking on leash with a bit of restraint, with less hurry up we need to get over here, no over there, no back this way like he does now. He just loves life and like most 1 year old labs he just wants what he wants right now. At 87 lbs though he needs to learn some good leash manners and we are working on it! He is super smart despite the high derp factor and he lives to please (he's so darn proud of himself when he gets a treat for sitting) or maybe he lives for treats. Either way he is picking up the leash skills and we are super proud of him. Does he need some work? Yeah but boy he is as entertaining as they come. You can see for yourself if you come in to meet him. And when you do come in we will introduce you to the sweetest chocolate lab ever....Adopt from MCASAll of our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive), microchipped, and current on all vaccinations. We are open 7 days a week 12pm to 5pm for adoptions, no appointment necessary!Adoption Center: 931-375-1402If you would like more information about this dog, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Kim, at kraffauf@gmail.com

Story
Meet Malcolm a handsome 2 year old black lab mix. Like most labs he is highly lovable and highly entertaining. While he is new to the adoption floor we have heard the same thing over and over many times already. "Someone has got to be missing this boy. He is everything you could want in a best friend and he is so well behaved and awesome he had to have belonged to someone". Malcolm came in and waited through the stray hold and was not claimed so this exceptional boy is available to a new family. Come meet him and she what we mean when we say Malcolm is all that and then some.Adopt from MCASAll of our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive), microchipped, and current on all vaccinations. We are open 7 days a week 12pm to 5pm for adoptions, no appointment necessary!Adoption Center: 931-375-1402If you would like more information about this dog, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Kim, at kraffauf@gmail.com

Story
Shannon Nina is a beautiful dog with high energy, she turns 1 in May. She requires an owner who has time to walk her, give her lots of attention and additional training. She’s great with dogs, cats, and chickens. She is crate trained, loves life outdoors and indoors. I’m hoping to find a family who can take care of her and love her the way I do. I have a baby, and a full time job, and I don’t have enough time for a dog. I believe she needs a family who understands dogs and give her all the love she deserves.

Meet River! Age: 4 Weight: 69lbs River is a golden boy who radiates happiness. This dog is just pure joy. River may not need much help being a sweetheart, but he still gets our standard training in basic obedience commands like sit and stay. River doesn't need any help learning to play with other dogs, though. He is social and friendly - and he loves daily doggie playgroup where he can chase and be chased by his friends. River has also lived up to his watery name. He attacks a cool drink of water with his entire body, putting both paws and his full head into a water bucket. We can't wait to see how he responds when we show him the baby pools in our play yard! If you are looking for a happy boy to lighten and brighten your every day, please come meet River and take him home!

Story
WOW, is Bailey a special girl! Smart as a whip! Bailey loves to play and loves to cuddle. Baily is looking for an active family that she can play with. She says she's not hyper because her favorite thing is sitting with her human and watching TV. Bailey is great with other dogs and would do really well with a playmate but it is not necessary that there be one already in the home. Bailey has not been cat tested but her fosters believe that she would want to chase after them if she saw one so best be sure to have a meet and greet first. Also, our adoption agency will have to put into effect a no children under the age of 13 rule. Bailey can sometimes growl if someone is doing something to her that she doesn't like. There has been no bitting and her fosters are working on this behavior.

Story
Please contact Vivienne (viviennejames@comcast.net) for more information about this pet.Hi, my name is Bristol. I am a 3 year old, 35-40 lb female yellow lab mix. Totally a coincidence but I am as fast as the cars at Bristol Motor Speedway. My favorite thing to do is play fetch and I will play for as long as you are able to throw the ball and ALWAYS bring the ball back to you. I was rescued by Critter Cavalry from an Arkansas shelter and so very thankful to be in Tennessee. I have the best foster home with two foster brothers who are twice my size and I love to wrestle with them. I have more confidence when I have other dogs to show me how to be a dog. I am a little slow to warm up to new people and do not need an extremely active home with a lot of different people coming and going. Once I get to know you after a few days I will never leave your side! I am very well behaved inside the house, I am crate trained, house-trained, quiet, and would make the perfect work from home buddy - I have been keeping my foster mom company by napping next to her desk all day. I would do great in a home with adults only or a family with older children. A canine companion would be great but I'm also willing to take all the attention for myself if I'm the only dog. BUT did I mention the ball. I do need someone that likes ball as much as I do and a fenced in yard is a MUST. I warm up to women first, but after a few days, men are ok too. I just did not have a very good beginning to my short life. If you are patient and looking for a great companion, then you have found her in me. I am spayed and current on all my shots. To be considered for my forever family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net. APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.    April 19, 2024, 8:26 am

Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comApril 4, 2024, 12:04 am
