Story
Things to know about Sparrow: Playful? Check. Active and Energetic? Check. Affectionate? Check. Extra Loving? Check. Meet the spunky and playful Sparrow! Sparrow is an approximately 12-14 month old Labrador Retriever X Hound Mix (and likely has some Pitbull in him too), and he weighs about 50-55 lbs. Sparrow came to us through our friends at Animal Rescue Assistance Team TN (ARATT), he was originally an owner surrender at approximately 10 weeks old because he was a puppy who acted like a puppy. Go figure! Sparrow is a fun loving pup; he loves to play and is constantly making friends. He has a knack for bringing even the most shy pup out of their shells. He is currently being housed with Athena (also on Petfinder) and has successfully helped socialize her into the active and loving girl that she is. Aside from Athena, he does well with all of the other rescue and resident dogs when participating in group play. Sparrow has not been tested with feline friends yet, however we believe he would be a good candidate for a dog-savvy cat who could put up with his energetic behavior. He has seen cats from afar and in passing on the way to the bath tub, and is not overly interested in them (they have come nose to nose for a few seconds). This boy loves to play! He adores children and will do his very best to shower them in kisses. Sparrow is learning how to walk on leash without pulling (he is pretty bright and treat motivated, so we think he will pick up training quickly). Once he is over the excitement of going on a walk, he was content to sit on Mrs. Alex's feet to receive pets and snuggles, or cuddle on the couch. He is working on his house training and has mastered the dog door to our indoor/outdoor dog runs. He is also crate trained (we crate for rides and adoption events), however he can be reactive to other dogs when crated or while leash walking. Sparrow rides well in a car whether free riding or crated, and he enjoys car rides. If you are looking for a playful and affectionate buddy to join your active family, consider meeting spunky Sparrow!

We got Dorothy as a puppy from a shelter. She’s about 1 1/2 years old. She’s very active and could use some training. She’s a really sweet dog and loves people. We’re looking for someone or a family who will love her and give her a lot of attention.

Story
These beautiful black Lab mix puppies that weigh 6-9 pounds at the time they were abandoned are called the Drive By Driveway Orphans. Five pretty little puppies that were carelessly thrown away like unwanted trash.  The puppies were just standing there in this country home’s driveway on a rainy cold morning during the tornado events that Middle Tennessee repeatedly struggled to endure.  Wet and bloated with tummies full of worms, these babies were sweetly scooped up by a guardian family who wrung their hands to get them safe and  over to a vet immediately.  Soon their concerns on health were settled and taken care of and together the family is working with Critter Cavalry Rescue to find them other fosters and also forever homes.  They appear to be 5 weeks old and just the sweetest little snuggle babies.  We need other fosters to help with this crew of Lab mix puppies. They are small and happy and need some good one on one that the current foster mom cannot give due to her work schedule and taking care of many animals at her own little Hobby Farm.  We are looking for fosters to help with puppies in a set of two or three clusters.   Critter Cavalry Rescue will supply all vetting, meds, food if needed, and crates or bedding.  We are very supportive and available to guide any foster family that steps forward to take them for a 3-5 week period of time.  We are able to adopt to local Tennessee families and also adopt to families in the Northeast.  Please help us help this little tribe of babies that never asked to be born and certainly they are not trash to be thrown away.  God Bless the helpers who give of what they have and who share with those who have nothing and no place to go. Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com or text/call 615-661-5333   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.April 22, 2025, 3:33 pm

Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comAugust 20, 2024, 12:05 am
