Story
  These beautiful black Lab mix puppies that weigh 6-9 pounds at the time they were abandoned are called the Drive By Driveway Orphans. Five pretty little puppies that were carelessly thrown away like unwanted trash.  The puppies were just standing there in this country home’s driveway on a rainy cold morning during the tornado events that Middle Tennessee repeatedly struggled to endure.  Wet and bloated with tummies full of worms, these babies were sweetly scooped up by a guardian family who wrung their hands to get them safe and  over to a vet immediately.  Soon their concerns on health were settled and taken care of and together the family is working with Critter Cavalry Rescue to find them other fosters and also forever homes.  They appear to be 5 weeks old and just the sweetest little snuggle babies.  We need other fosters to help with this crew of Lab mix puppies. They are small and happy and need some good one on one that the current foster mom cannot give due to her work schedule and taking care of many animals at her own little Hobby Farm.  We are looking for fosters to help with puppies in a set of two or three clusters.   Critter Cavalry Rescue will supply all vetting, meds, food if needed, and crates or bedding.  We are very supportive and available to guide any foster family that steps forward to take them for a 3-5 week period of time.  We are able to adopt to local Tennessee families and also adopt to families in the Northeast.  Please help us help this little tribe of babies that never asked to be born and certainly they are not trash to be thrown away.  God Bless the helpers who give of what they have and who share with those who have nothing and no place to go. This amazing puppy that has the beautiful golden smile and coat of a golden color as well, is called Gabriel.  Living his first 4 months of life in a 10X 10 outdoor kennel with his other 6 siblings, this boy never has had a chance to run and play and be loved on until August 15th.  The day his life changed and that of his 6 siblings, will be a special one for Critter Cavalry Rescue.   Their hard and cruel past is behind them and now a bright and shiny future is promised them as CCR starts posting all the wonderful girls and boys that are from that litter.  They are loving, some shyer than others, but all are hungry to be cuddled, played with and offered the chance to love their humans deeply and forever.   Having a yard to run and play in has been a first ever since 8/15.  Can you imagine the freedom and exhilaration that our boy Gabriel has been feeling?  He has a little foster girl to kiss and play with and other dogs and even some chickens in the backyard.  He has been neutered and shots started and dewormings under way.  The road ahead will be a breeze compared to his first 4 months.  Currently he weighs 25 pounds and is destined to be a 55 pound adult lovebug.  If you love his smile then you will love his heart even more.  Friendly and learning all the new things about this wonderful world of good food, a dog bed, chew toys and above all, humans who care about him.  What more could make a puppy happier?  Well all that is left to top these great changes is to have a family adopt him!!!!   Could that be you!?  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We adopt locally in Nashville, TN area where he is fostered and we also offer transportation to the northeast to families and homes that want to give our dogs and cats a better life.  Just let us know where you live!  We can get our boy there and close!    Bradley Cooper is what we call a Fireworks Dog.  Found in the middle of the road and scared on a Pre-Fourth of July evening on July 3rd, this handsome dog was terrified as it was storming and early fireworks were going off on the evening before the 4th of July.  His kind rescuer couple saw his distress and confusion and took him home to clean him up and sooth his nerves.  Their reassurance and kindness got an immediate response of joy, tail wags and gratitude from Brady Cooper.  He seemed to know that he was safe and cared for the moment they got him home.   What you will see immediately about Brady Cooper is that he has a heart of gold and the desire to be friends quickly with everyone he meets.  Even at the vet's office when he was delivered to be neutered, he won all of the office staff over immediately with his refreshingly easy going temperament and his smile. He loves to be around people and he wins them over every time.  He is still a puppy and jumps up when he gets excited like a lot of dogs do when they are starved for attention and not taught how to be good and mindful of their size.  A little training and the jumping can subside and go away.   Delilah Deserves More Than This Delilah is another one of those puppies whose life started with a parking lot giveaway. She was advertised as an “Anatolian Shepherd mix,” but we can confidently say there isn’t much Anatolian in this beautiful girl. At 10 months old and 50 pounds, Delilah appears to be more of a Lab/Heeler mix with a heart full of love and potential. What breaks our hearts isn’t where she came from—it’s how she’s been living. For most of her young life, Delilah has spent nearly 20 hours a day confined to a large crate in an apartment. Not because she’s a bad dog. Not because she’s destructive. Simply because life circumstances left her with very little opportunity to be a puppy. At an age when she should be running, exploring, playing, learning, and discovering the world, Delilah has mostly been watching life pass by from behind crate bars. The lack of exercise has even caused some muscle loss. More than anything, she needs a chance to move, stretch, play, and simply be a dog. Despite everything, Delilah remains incredibly sweet. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, which isn’t surprising considering how little social interaction she’s had. But beneath that initial uncertainty is a kind, gentle, loving girl who desperately wants to connect. She is good with other dogs, enjoys people, and is already crate trained—just far more crate trained than any young dog should ever have to be. What Delilah needs now is simple: A yard to explore. A couch to nap on. A family to notice her. A foster home willing to show her that life can be bigger than four crate walls.   Some Dogs Ask for Your Attention. Shaya Is Quietly Hoping for Your Heart.   Every rescue group has that one dog. The one everyone agrees is wonderful, but somehow keeps getting passed over because she isn't the first to greet strangers or demand attention. The one whose eyes tell a story that words never could. The one who simply needs someone willing to see beyond the first five minutes. For us, that dog is Shaya.   Almost two years ago, Shaya was just a puppy herself there in rural Mississippi.  At a very young age of about 9 months, she gave birth to a litter of puppies out in the woods of Mississippi and a rescue lady found them.  The puppies were accepted at the shelter but the momma dog was rejected.  They said to put her down.  The lady who rescued the family contacted Critter Cavalry Rescue and begged us to take her and her sister who also had puppies born at such a young age.  We did.  Shaya was the most shutdown and scared at the time.  Thankfully, our rescue had a different plan.   Since that day, Shaya has spent the past year learning something many dogs take for granted—that people can be gentle, hands can offer comfort instead of fear, and home can actually be a safe place.  Has she blossomed? Absolutely. Is she still a little shy? Yes.And honestly...after the life she's lived, who wouldn't be?   When Shaya meets someone new, she takes a moment to watch. She's simply trying to answer one question: 'Are you going to be kind to me?'   Once she realizes the answer is yes, something beautiful begins to happen. Her soft eyes brighten. Her tail starts to wag. She leans in for affection and quietly asks for the snuggles she's come to love. There isn't a demanding bone in her body. She simply wants to belong.   Shaya is happiest when life is peaceful. She loves long walks, where her confidence grows with every step beside someone she trusts. She adores other dogs and truly flourishes around them, which is why we know another friendly, confident dog in her forever home would help her continue to blossom. She is wonderful with cats, has never shown any aggression, and happily relaxes in her crate, which has always been her little place of comfort. She uses a doggie door, is about 95% house-trained, and even understands that pee pads are there if her family has to be away for longer periods.   She isn't difficult.  She isn't broken. She's simply a dog whose heart learned to be careful.  There is a special kind of person who reads biographies like this one. The person who doesn't ask, 'What can this dog do for me?' but instead wonders, 'What happened to her?' The person who understands that love isn't always loud. Sometimes it's quiet. Sometimes it's earned. Sometimes it arrives wrapped in patience, tiny victories, and the trust of a dog who finally believes she's safe.   Those are the people we're hoping will find Shaya.   She may never be the dog who rushes to greet every stranger, but she will become the dog who watches you with complete devotion, follows you from room to room, curls up beside you after a long day, and reminds you that the greatest relationships in life are often the ones worth waiting for.   Shaya is only about 40 pounds, but the heart she's looking for needs to be much bigger than that. She doesn't need someone to rescue her anymore.   Just one look at Blackmon's radiant black face, and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him. Those soulful eyes are so deep and searching as he tries to find his place in the world.  A family or someone to call his own. His shiny black hound dog ears just glisten in the sun. His coat is soft and beautiful and he loves to be told he is a 'good boy'.  Blackmon simply needs to have someone make him feel valuable and loved.  Born around April 1, Blackmon is one of nine puppies born to a beautiful, gentle Redbone Coonhound mix mom. Like his brothers and sisters, he didn't have the easiest start in life and arrived in rescue a little underweight. Since coming to Critter Cavalry Rescue on June 29, he's been getting plenty of nutritious food, lots of love, and every chance to grow into the healthy, happy puppy he was always meant to be. Blackmon is expected to mature into a handsome 45–50-pound companion. While his mom is a Redbone mix, we're convinced there's another wonderful breed or two in his family tree. Maybe Lab and where he gets his shiny black coloring. Whatever his mix may be, one thing is certain—he's absolutely perfect just the way he is. Blackmon is everything you hope for in a calm and sweet puppy. Curious. soulful. Smart. Affectionate. He's already using pee pads like a champ when he can't make it outside, and he's learning about crates, leashes, and all the exciting adventures that come with growing up. This little guy wakes up every day ready to discover the world. Absolutely. Is she still a little shy? Yes.And honestly...after the life she's lived, who wouldn't be?   When Shaya meets someone new, she takes a moment to watch. She's simply trying to answer one question: 'Are you going to be kind to me?'   Once she realizes the answer is yes, something beautiful begins to happen. Her soft eyes brighten. Her tail starts to wag. She leans in for affection and quietly asks for the snuggles she's come to love. There isn't a demanding bone in her body. She simply wants to belong.   Shaya is happiest when life is peaceful. She loves long walks, where her confidence grows with every step beside someone she trusts. She adores other dogs and truly flourishes around them, which is why we know another friendly, confident dog in her forever home would help her continue to blossom. She is wonderful with cats, has never shown any aggression, and happily relaxes in her crate, which has always been her little place of comfort. She uses a doggie door, is about 95% house-trained, and even understands that pee pads are there if her family has to be away for longer periods.   She isn't difficult.  She isn't broken. She's simply a dog whose heart learned to be careful.  There is a special kind of person who reads biographies like this one. The person who doesn't ask, 'What can this dog do for me?' but instead wonders, 'What happened to her?' The person who understands that love isn't always loud. Sometimes it's quiet. Sometimes it's earned. Sometimes it arrives wrapped in patience, tiny victories, and the trust of a dog who finally believes she's safe.   Those are the people we're hoping will find Shaya.   She may never be the dog who rushes to greet every stranger, but she will become the dog who watches you with complete devotion, follows you from room to room, curls up beside you after a long day, and reminds you that the greatest relationships in life are often the ones worth waiting for.   Shaya is only about 40 pounds, but the heart she's looking for needs to be much bigger than that. She doesn't need someone to rescue her anymore.   Just one look at Blackmon's radiant black face, and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him. Those soulful eyes are so deep and searching as he tries to find his place in the world.  A family or someone to call his own. His shiny black hound dog ears just glisten in the sun. His coat is soft and beautiful and he loves to be told he is a 'good boy'.  Blackmon simply needs to have someone make him feel valuable and loved.  Born around April 1, Blackmon is one of nine puppies born to a beautiful, gentle Redbone Coonhound mix mom. Like his brothers and sisters, he didn't have the easiest start in life and arrived in rescue a little underweight. Since coming to Critter Cavalry Rescue on June 29, he's been getting plenty of nutritious food, lots of love, and every chance to grow into the healthy, happy puppy he was always meant to be. Blackmon is expected to mature into a handsome 45–50-pound companion. While his mom is a Redbone mix, we're convinced there's another wonderful breed or two in his family tree. Maybe Lab and where he gets his shiny black coloring. Whatever his mix may be, one thing is certain—he's absolutely perfect just the way he is. Blackmon is everything you hope for in a calm and sweet puppy. Curious. soulful. Smart. Affectionate. He's already using pee pads like a champ when he can't make it outside, and he's learning about crates, leashes, and all the exciting adventures that come with growing up. This little guy wakes up every day ready to discover the world. Whether he's exploring the backyard, playing with other dogs, making friends with cats, or snuggling with the young children in his foster home, Blackmon is ready to learn and work on being a self-confident young adult dog.  He just some daily leash walks and a consistent owner to work with him.  Because he's an active, intelligent puppy, Blackmon will thrive with a family that enjoys spending time outdoors. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, or an active family committed to daily walks, trips to the dog park, and plenty of playtime and training. He's eager to learn and will blossom with the guidance, consistency, and love that every puppy deserves. Blackmon isn't just looking for a home.
