Story
I have videos!!! Surrendered by a family whose son turned out to be allergic to pets, Isla (pronounced “eye-la”) uses her sandy-white coat and black-framed, sea-green eyes to show you why she is named for the Spanish word for “island.” Her mom was a German Shepherd/Lab mix; dad was a traveling man. Lack of socialization left Isla wary of strangers, and she’s a little worried and antsy at first; but she comes around with a few minutes’ patience and time and is ready to play fetch and accept treats. Highly food motivated, she walks happily on a leashed “sniff and stroll” through the woods, responds promptly to “sit”, and is doing well learning other commands. At 19 months old and weighing 49 pounds, she is already house-trained (she lived happily with a family of dad, mom, two teenage boys and a toddler), crate-trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccines and monthly parasite preventatives. Her easy-care coat and playful attitude with other dogs add to her list of assets. She would love to have another family of her own! https://youtu.be/6pmyBBgp2fY FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla learns the "release" commandhttps://youtu.be/Z1BDW5nXN_U / FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla learns not to play with slip lead!https://youtu.be/c9mb7HEdpM4 FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla plays ball by herself!https://youtu.be/hEaDsFgvnok FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla goes on a Stroll&Sniffhttps://youtu.be/yqmXoKIPhxM FOCCAS adoptable dog checks out a big turkeyhttps://youtu.be/3Mw0_JK3RTY FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla plays fetch and practices "Leave it"FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. PICK ME! PICK ME!I’m Rocky, named after “Rocky Top,” one of Tennessee’s official state songs! The lifestyle of my adoptive family changed after three years, so they honored their adoption contract and tearfully returned me to FOCCAS with my toys, food, bed, the blanket I like to carry around (and guard when there’s a vacuum cleaner nearby). And to tell you the truth, I’m ready to find my real FOREVER family immediately! I’ll let you in on a few secrets: I’m not quite five years old, so I’m mature enough to have some manners but young and high-energy enough to bring spirited joy to your day! I’m already neutered, house trained, crate trained, harness-trained, and microchipped. I get monthly doses of parasite preventatives, so I’m flea/tick/worms negative (including heartworms). I LOVE to cuddle on the sofa, chase bubbles and butterflies outside, and play “flying disk” in a fenced yard (and even bring it back to you for another toss—check out my videos at https://youtube.com/shorts/Yklw_HMr_N0?feature=share and https://youtube.com/shorts/eBqrKNrS1zc?feature=share ). I can’t speak your language but I can help you understand mine through mumblings and body motions (watch me extend an invitation to play flying disk in the snow-- https://youtube.com/shorts/y28r_o990Ac?feature=share ). I enjoy having a fenced yard to keep me safe and the companionship of other dogs and people of all ages (though car rides make me nervous). I know several commands (including sit, down, stay, spin, shake, catch, “leave it” -- https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mzVe3TBQwag?feature=share and https://www.youtube.com/shorts/y1XTC9Rhz4k?feature=share ) and am food-motivated; so I’m eager to learn more. My former mom bragged that I’m the “perfect dog”! If you’re looking for fun, love, smarts and devotion, you’ve come to the right place. Apply today to see if you’re my perfect match! FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. If transport is needed, there are additional fees to cover department of agriculture requirements and transport, the additional fee adds $300 to the adoption fee (any location out of Tennessee, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to Your Browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=416LOCATED IN CROSSVILLE, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. Story
From Merlin's foster mom: I have had the pleasure of fostering Merlin for several months. He was dumped in a rural area and was hard to catch and scared of everything. I brought him into my house and he stayed inside with outside potty breaks while in my care and NEVER had an accident inside. I became worried about his safety when he escaped my fence one day and would not come back to me. He was sent for 2 weeks inboard training. He caught a chicken the day he got loose but dropped it when I told him to and the chicken was unharmed. Merlin slowly warmed up to me and would try to get in to my lap a lot. He is very loving and sweet. He would be a great walking or jogging companion as he is high energy. He was very submissive to all my other dogs and was tolerant of cats but I never left him alone with the cats. Merlin is very smart and funny and he has a wonderful personality. He is a perfect dog but he needs an adopter with a sense of humor. Merlin "The Magician" makes things disappear! He loves to collect household items...shoes, clothes, spoons, canned goods, measuring tapes...whatever he can get his mouth on. He has great fun swiping things the second you turn around. He has a special place he takes his treasurers and understands you will collect your items back. I imagine this will improve as he grows out of puppyhood and with follow up training. He was started with the basics but will continue to need reinforcement of what he has learned. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. My adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $275. Story
Rin wandered into our yard six years ago. She was about 6 months old. We have cared for her for 6 years and she is up to date with shots, etc. and is in excellent condition. She is an extremely happy and playful dog. She loves to play fetch and to go for walks. She has been trained and heels well. She loves company. She gets along well with most other dogs. Many neighborhood dogs stop in our yard and play with her. She used to like cats until one scratched her nose and now she dislikes cats. We have an invisible fence that she has learned to stay inside of and she sleeps in the garage. We have left her for three weeks at a time when we are out of town; the next door neighbor feeds her and checks on her; other neighbors stop by and throw the ball for her; the invisible fence contains her; but we are traveling more now and do not want to leave her home alone for extended periods. For a new home, we would like someone who will be home nights with her.

Story
Hershey is immediately available for Rescue/Foster to Adopt. She is roughly 10 months old and is timid and skittish. Patience, time, and training will be beneficial with this girl. With the right individual or family she would thrive. We would not recommend homes with small children due to her being easily frightened. March 29, 2025, 9:42 pm
