Meet Quiche, the dashing fellow with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is good-natured, friendly, and intelligent. This considerate boy is easy to walk, non-pulling and gentle. We've discovered he is a great jogging dog, so if you are looking for a running buddy, Quiche wants to apply. He is around 5 years old with a moderate energy level. Still playful and fun, but no wild energy. Just right! Plus, he has an adorable bark. Quiche needs a home where he can be your only pet. Drop by the shelter to say hello or fill out an application here, http://tinyurl.com/ORAS-Adoption-Application Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 41.4 Age: 6yrs 3mths 1wks

Shirley is a sweet Lab mix with soulful eyes. She has a calm, easygoing nature and is wonderful with people. On leash, she walks beautifully - no pulling. Shirley did great in the car and handled herself well at an adoption event. Shirley would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can relax and feel safe. She can be selective with other dogs, so a meet-and-greet is required to ensure a good fit. Come meet Shirley at the shelter, or apply to adopt her at http://tinyurl.com/ORAS-Adoption-Application Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Black Weight: 37 Age: 1yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
Whiskey is a beautiful chocolate Lab who was rescued from a puppy mill after being found severely underweight. Despite his rough start, he has an incredible spirit and so much love to give. He’s gaining strength every day and proving just how resilient and joyful he truly is. Whiskey has great energy and is a very quick learner—he enjoys engaging with his people and is eager to please. He’s also incredibly sweet and affectionate, happiest when he’s close to his person. One of his favorite things is simply laying quietly at your feet, content just to be near you. Due to an infection caused by happy tail syndrome, Whiskey will be having his tail amputated. This doesn’t slow him down or dampen his loving nature one bit—he’s still the same joyful, affectionate boy who just wants to be loved and included. Whiskey is looking for a home where he can continue to heal, thrive, and finally know what it means to be cherished. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a gentle soul, a smart mind, and a heart that overflows with love, Whiskey is ready to be your best friend. 🐾💕

Story
Gwennie is an old soul in every sense of the word. Still active, this angelic spirit came into our care without a lot of information. She exudes sweet. She is dainty and playful everyone. She has learned to trust us and when she shines on you - you melt. She came to us from a shelter with every single tooth cracked/rotten or broken. All of her teeth have been removed and the difference in her is remarkable. She is like a puppy again and her face glows. Gwendolyn is special needs because she will need to be with people who will protect her from everything since she can't protect herself. She will also need soft food for the rest of her life. Without teeth, Gwennie has learned to love plush blankets and soft squishy toys (one of the benefits she has learned about her painful mouth being painful no longer). To adopt one of our animals, the first step is filling out an adoption application at www.tapsusa.org, https://tapsusa.org/why-adopt/application/ Please make sure you get a confirmation that your application has been submitted. If you are a match for one of our pets, we will reach out to you to schedule a meet and greet. All meet and greets are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY The Animal Protectorates c/o Friendsville Animal Center 706 Kiser Station Road Friendsville, TN 37737 All animals are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before they go to new homes because that's the responsible way to keep them all safe. We only adopt to local homes in the immediate vicinity because we utilize our volunteer force to process home visits. Photos of your home, letters of reference are not acceptable which is why we only adopt locally. Only in very rare circumstances do we adopt out of area. Examples of this would be finding the perfect home for a senior animal or one that has other special needs that we have not been able to place locally for an extended period of time. Thank you for wanting to adopt.

Story
Meet Paris- Paris was surrendered to us on 5-2-2024, Thankfully, she came with some paperwork from her adoption at young Williams from years ago. The original adopter was in the nursing home at time of surrender ( owner did not surrender). Once we spoke with owner on the phone, we verified that the person on the phone was indeed the owner, we made a promise to not adopt her out. The owner would be adopting her back.. we understood the situation, so we kept her at the rescue and had her in foster care off and on. We took Paris to see her human for visits and had phone calls and a few emails with their caretaker. Upon an email, we were told that the owner has decided to fully relinquish the rights of ownership and does not want her back at all. This is very sad and breaks our hearts every day, because she deserves to be in a home environment that will fit her needs! Upon learning more about her, we have discovered that she was diagnosed with cushings in August of 2022, and also has arthritis. >>>>Her ideal place where she can relax and enjoy her days, would be quiet, calm and somewhere that has no steps. A ramp would be best. She will need help getting into a vehicle for appointments once a month to get to her vet for a librela shot. Paris is also on a compound medication that is given at breakfast and supper as well as 1 Dasuquin at breakfast. she loves to lay beside you on the floor and under your desk while you work! We are not sure how much she has left in her, however, she is still eating fine, drinking fine and seems to be enjoying life to the fullest! You will notice that her her legs are "bent" a little more than normal and that is from the cushings taking its toll. Think of it like you always pulling your hand backwards to your arm and keeping it there all the time...the pressure you feel, is what she feels all the time! She still likes to go for short walks ( she begs to go out to the play yard for her daily strolls ). We are searching for either a forever foster or someone that would like to adopt her and give her the best life she can possibly have. ______________________ Her diet is: Purina one adult her medication Dasuquin _______________________ Her vet for most of her life has been and still is: Monroe County Animal Hospital in Sweetwater, TN _______________________ Her routine is: eat between 7-8 am and 7-8pm lounge around and get up to go the restroom and do a slow walk around the yard and maybe lay out when its nice outside *****Please reach out to us for ANY questions about this gal!****** our website is www.woofwooffosters.org Thank You !!
