Story
Thor is a guy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He loves people and craves attention from anyone who is willing to give it to him. He has a confident demeanor and likes to be in charge, often acting as a leader among the other dogs at the rescue. Thor's energy and strength can sometimes be too much for his own good. With proper care and exercise, he can shed those extra pounds and become a healthier, happier pup. Despite his flaws, Thor is a lovable and loyal companion who just needs a little extra help to reach his full potential.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
I have videos!!! Surrendered by a family whose son turned out to be allergic to pets, Isla (pronounced “eye-la”) uses her sandy-white coat and black-framed, sea-green eyes to show you why she is named for the Spanish word for “island.” Her mom was a German Shepherd/Lab mix; dad was a traveling man. Lack of socialization left Isla wary of strangers, and she’s a little worried and antsy at first; but she comes around with a few minutes’ patience and time and is ready to play fetch and accept treats. Highly food motivated, she walks happily on a leashed “sniff and stroll” through the woods, responds promptly to “sit”, and is doing well learning other commands. At 19 months old and weighing 49 pounds, she is already house-trained (she lived happily with a family of dad, mom, two teenage boys and a toddler), crate-trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccines and monthly parasite preventatives. Her easy-care coat and playful attitude with other dogs add to her list of assets. She would love to have another family of her own! https://youtu.be/6pmyBBgp2fY FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla learns the "release" commandhttps://youtu.be/Z1BDW5nXN_U / FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla learns not to play with slip lead!https://youtu.be/c9mb7HEdpM4 FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla plays ball by herself!https://youtu.be/hEaDsFgvnok FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla goes on a Stroll&Sniffhttps://youtu.be/yqmXoKIPhxM FOCCAS adoptable dog checks out a big turkeyhttps://youtu.be/3Mw0_JK3RTY FOCCAS adoptable dog Isla plays fetch and practices "Leave it"FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
From Merlin's foster mom: I have had the pleasure of fostering Merlin for several months. He was dumped in a rural area and was hard to catch and scared of everything. I brought him into my house and he stayed inside with outside potty breaks while in my care and NEVER had an accident inside. I became worried about his safety when he escaped my fence one day and would not come back to me. He was sent for 2 weeks inboard training. He caught a chicken the day he got loose but dropped it when I told him to and the chicken was unharmed. Merlin slowly warmed up to me and would try to get in to my lap a lot. He is very loving and sweet. He would be a great walking or jogging companion as he is high energy. He was very submissive to all my other dogs and was tolerant of cats but I never left him alone with the cats. Merlin is very smart and funny and he has a wonderful personality. He is a perfect dog but he needs an adopter with a sense of humor. Merlin "The Magician" makes things disappear! He loves to collect household items...shoes, clothes, spoons, canned goods, measuring tapes...whatever he can get his mouth on. He has great fun swiping things the second you turn around. He has a special place he takes his treasurers and understands you will collect your items back. I imagine this will improve as he grows out of puppyhood and with follow up training. He was started with the basics but will continue to need reinforcement of what he has learned. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
PICK ME! PICK ME!I’m Rocky, named after “Rocky Top,” one of Tennessee’s official state songs! The lifestyle of my adoptive family changed after three years, so they honored their adoption contract and tearfully returned me to FOCCAS with my toys, food, bed, the blanket I like to carry around (and guard when there’s a vacuum cleaner nearby). And to tell you the truth, I’m ready to find my real FOREVER family immediately! I’ll let you in on a few secrets: I’m not quite five years old, so I’m mature enough to have some manners but young and high-energy enough to bring spirited joy to your day! I’m already neutered, house trained, crate trained, harness-trained, and microchipped. I get monthly doses of parasite preventatives, so I’m flea/tick/worms negative (including heartworms). I LOVE to cuddle on the sofa, chase bubbles and butterflies outside, and play “flying disk” in a fenced yard (and even bring it back to you for another toss—check out my videos at https://youtube.com/shorts/Yklw_HMr_N0?feature=share and https://youtube.com/shorts/eBqrKNrS1zc?feature=share ). I can’t speak your language but I can help you understand mine through mumblings and body motions (watch me extend an invitation to play flying disk in the snow-- https://youtube.com/shorts/y28r_o990Ac?feature=share ). I enjoy having a fenced yard to keep me safe and the companionship of other dogs and people of all ages (though car rides make me nervous). I know several commands (including sit, down, stay, spin, shake, catch, “leave it” -- https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mzVe3TBQwag?feature=share and https://www.youtube.com/shorts/y1XTC9Rhz4k?feature=share ) and am food-motivated; so I’m eager to learn more. My former mom bragged that I’m the “perfect dog”! If you’re looking for fun, love, smarts and devotion, you’ve come to the right place. Apply today to see if you’re my perfect match! Story
Meet Paris- Paris was surrendered to us on 5-2-2024, Thankfully, she came with some paperwork from her adoption at young Williams from years ago. The original adopter was in the nursing home at time of surrender ( owner did not surrender). Once we spoke with owner on the phone, we verified that the person on the phone was indeed the owner, we made a promise to not adopt her out. The owner would be adopting her back.. we understood the situation, so we kept her at the rescue and had her in foster care off and on. We took Paris to see her human for visits and had phone calls and a few emails with their caretaker. Upon an email, we were told that the owner has decided to fully relinquish the rights of ownership and does not want her back at all. This is very sad and breaks our hearts every day, because she deserves to be in a home environment that will fit her needs! Upon learning more about her, we have discovered that she was diagnosed with cushings in August of 2022, and also has arthritis. >>>>Her ideal place where she can relax and enjoy her days, would be quiet, calm and somewhere that has no steps. A ramp would be best. She will need help getting into a vehicle for appointments once a month to get to her vet for a librela shot. Paris is also on a compound medication that is given at breakfast and supper as well as 1 Dasuquin at breakfast. she loves to lay beside you on the floor and under your desk while you work! We are not sure how much she has left in her, however, she is still eating fine, drinking fine and seems to be enjoying life to the fullest! You will notice that her her legs are "bent" a little more than normal and that is from the cushings taking its toll. Think of it like you always pulling your hand backwards to your arm and keeping it there all the time...the pressure you feel, is what she feels all the time! She still likes to go for short walks ( she begs to go out to the play yard for her daily strolls ). We are searching for either a forever foster or someone that would like to adopt her and give her the best life she can possibly have. ______________________ Her diet is: Purina one adult her medication Dasuquin _______________________ Her vet for most of her life has been and still is: Monroe County Animal Hospital in Sweetwater, TN _______________________ Her routine is: eat between 7-8 am and 7-8pm lounge around and get up to go the restroom and do a slow walk around the yard and maybe lay out when its nice outside *****Please reach out to us for ANY questions about this gal!****** our website is www.woofwooffosters.org Thank You !!

Still playful and fun, but no wild energy. Just right! Plus, he has an adorable bark. Quiche needs a home where he can be your only pet.
