Labrador Retriever puppies and dogs in Orange, Virginia

Tucker is a very special dog and could thrive in many different home settings. Tucker was adopted through the Charlottesville SPCA in late May. A week later we had major medical issues develop in my family. We feel it is in Tucker's best interest help him find his new family. He is a very easy going dog who loves going out on long walks. He has a big stride and would be a great jogging partner. After exercise, he is going to flop down for a very long nap. Very easy going dog. He has been kenneled at The Cottages in Louisa, VA often and they would be happy to share their experiences with him. When responding to this post, please know I will want to know about your situation and if you have had dogs in the past or if this would be your first. Petra is a sweet little girl weighing 33lbs and is estimated to be 2 yrs old. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. Petra loves to play and is very social with other dogs. We had her DNA tested and it came back as Super Mutt which we already knew so no help on that front. We do not know if she has ever lived in a house. Although she takes a minute to warm up, once she does, she is your best friend. If you are interested please reach out and we will love telling you all about her.

Benny is a big boy with a loving heart. The veterinarian thinks he is predominantly Labrador and quessing him to be between 3 and 4 yrs. old. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. He loves to play in the water and then gets the zoomies. He is also content to sit next to you and use your feet as a cushion. He is a total sweetheart. He has been non reactive to dogs and cats he has met but has not been loose with them.

Libby is a layed back kinda dog. She does like to sniff around alot. She is good with kids and other animals. She was a rescue dog very loveable sweet dog like to ride and go places. Grade a ride along companion

The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. Meet Alderaan, our wonderful 3-year-old deaf Lab! Alderaan's foster calls him "derpy," which is a description we absolutely love; it's the best quintessential Labrador description we've ever heard. He's excited and affectionate, curious and a little clumsy, but most of all, he loves being the class clown. Whether it's him "missing the landing" on a badly-planned jump, rolling around on the couch, or running into yet another wall or doorframe, he has a goofy personality that you can't help but laugh about. It's like he still hasn't figured out his body moves. Alderaan is doing wonderfully with crate- and house-training in his foster home. He's also learning to walk nicely on a leash and adores the children and other dogs he lives with. Alderaan is deaf, but he's picking up hand signals quickly, and he'll benefit from a family ready to help him work on redirecting focus and checking in with his people, since he can't hear them calling him. Despite his brazen goofiness, Alderaan modulates his behavior beautifully, displaying a sweet and gentle side of him that makes you love him even more.    He loves a good ball or bone, and he's used to living with several dogs, so when he sees others he's ready to play. He also loves the attention from humans, and we can't really blame him for that. At the heart of it, Alderaan has has so much potential! His first few years of life didn't teach him many boundaries or basics, but he's so smart and picking them up quickly.
