Story
Buddy is a 4 yr old Lab mix around 55lbs. He is your classic “dog”. Always happy, loves everyone and enjoys going new places and meeting new people. He’s curious about cats and livestock but has never been aggressive. Wonderful with other dogs large and small. No food or treat aggression and is easy to have around. Isn’t a fan of crates but is fine in an outdoor kennel if needed. Fully vetted and ready to adopt!

Story
We unfortunately have to rehome our lab/pit mix due to having no options to rent a home that allows large dogs. We have owned him for 6 years, since he was a puppy. We can not even begin to describe the sweet nature of this dog. He has been amazing with our two kids. Everyone who meets him (even those who don’t love dogs!) falls in love with him. His soul is a special one. We aren’t asking for an adoption fee, just a family that can show him the love and affection (and snuggles) he deserves.

Story
Meet Packer, a lab mix with a unique journey that started on the streets of Texas. Initially rescued by a Texas shelter, he made his way to Knoxville, TN, only to return to his original Texas rescue, which then transferred him to our rescue. Now, Packer is eagerly seeking his forever family. Having experienced significant changes, Packer longs for a stable and loving home to call his own. He is exceptionally people-friendly, showering affection in the form of kisses and seeking to be your loyal companion. While he grapples with separation anxiety, it's understandable given his past; he simply desires a supportive environment where he won't face abandonment again. Packer gets along with other dogs but prefers being the center of attention. Trust is a work in progress for him, and seeing other dogs receive attention is challenging. Packer yearns for the chance to be a dog, to shine, thrive, and become an exceptional companion. His loyalty is unwavering, and he holds a special place among our rescue's favorites. Microchipped, heartworm-negative, up-to-date on shots, and neutered, Packer is ready to embark on a new chapter with a family that will cherish him forever.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/lynk2020/ Let me introduce myself! I'm Lynk! Could I be the missing Lynk in your life? I love going for walks and cuddling. I also love staying busy with a good chew toy! I can be wary of strangers, so I'd prefer to be in a quiet home. I'd also love a yard with space to accommodate my energetic self, or an active family. But once I get some zoomies in, I'd love to snuggle up on the couch! I do get attached to my people and can be protective in the home, so I would do best in a home with no small children or a lot of visitors. I have a lot of love to give, and would love to be the only one receiving the love you have to give! Submit an application so we can meet and learn more about each other! Story
https://foha.org/pet/marvin/ I have been at the shelter for a long bit and have found a tribe of friends. I can see my people from a mile away and will wiggle my whole body and tail until they say hello! Some of my favorite things to do: lay in a baby pool for hours (if given the chance); sit on a blanket chewing a toy and getting belly rubs from a special friend; sitting on the head of my human "champion while we lounge on a couch. Although I can be very sweet and affectionate, I have some particular worries. I am wary of strangers and require several meetings to get to know you. Children scare me with their fast movements. Having lots of visitors and movement in a home distresses me. I crave quiet and stability. With that I will be loyal, snuggle with you and find my way into your lap. I walk beautifully and will "lean against your legs as we walk. I play very well with other dogs and enjoy time sunbathing in a play yard. Can I look forward to a visit and an introduction? Story
https://foha.org/pet/buddy2021-3/ Hello! My name is Buddy! As my name implies, I am a wonderful companion. I am super loving with people I know well...just ask my fan club at the shelter! I'm affectionate (hugs and kisses!), playful, smart (I know my name, "sit, and "catch,) and great on the leash. After some time outside walking or playing fetch, I'm ready for a long nap next to you on the couch. Oh, and I have great house manners, including not barking much and sitting patiently while someone's cooking in the kitchen. I don't even mind the bathtub! Sometimes I can be protective of my people while on the leash or in the house. My new family can continue the training I've started at the shelter so I can become even more confident and show everyone how sweet I am. Still, I think I'd love living with just one or two people and not having many visitors at the house. And no cats, please! I would also love to have my own fenced-in yard; playing fetch and pushing the jolly ball around are two of my favorite pastimes. If you're looking for a new best friend, then I'm your Buddy! If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. But prepare yourself; my favorite volunteers say it doesn't take long to fall in love with me! See you soon!!

Story
https://foha.org/pet/cobre2024/ Hola amigos y potential forever family! My name is Cobre, and I've got some exciting news for you. First things first, a huge gracias to the amazing FOHA volunteer and foster who rescued me from a shelter in Maryland. They saved my tail, and now I'm ready to find a loving home, hopefully with you! Now, let me spill the beans about my quirks and charms, as reported by my current foster family. I've got this superpower - honing in on scents and sounds during our walks. It's like I've got a built-in radar! Sometimes, I get so focused that I forget to listen to commands, but don't worry, I'm working on it. My foster parent introduced this cool command called "Slow" in English and "Lento" in Spanish. When I follow it, I get treats and lots of praise. I'm a quick learner in two languages! I must confess, I get a bit vocal when I see other dogs while out on walks, trying to show my bravado. Maybe I'm still figuring out the doggy social scene. I haven't had much experience with other dogs while on my walks, you see. Oh, and speaking of walks, I'm getting better on the leash in both languages, but sometimes I just can't resist the urge to twirl around and have a little fun with it. It's like a game! I may need a bit more practice, but I promise, I'm a good student. Now, let's talk bedtime. Due to a slight fear of those tricky wood stairs (they got me once, but I'm okay!), we've been having some cozy nights in the living room. I've claimed an old recliner as my own sleep throne-it's pretty comfortable, if I do say so myself. And about that new couch - I may have tried to sneak on there a couple of times, but I'm learning this command called "Off" in English and "Baja" in Spanish. I think I'll master it soon. Oh, and here's a little secret - I have no idea how big I am! My bed is always a bit too small for me, and I end up hanging off the edge. It's pretty funny, and my foster family gets a good laugh out of it. But here's the scoop - I'm looking for a home with no cats and no chickens. Yep, I'm all about focusing on the humans and maybe some doggy friends. If you're patient, understanding, and ready for some fun adventures in both English and Spanish, I think we could be a perfect match. Come meet me, and let's create some pawsitively wonderful memories together! Tail wags and woofs, Cobre
