Story
Meet Dale, a 2-year-old male Labrador Retriever mix.Dale's ideal home would be with a family who could spend time training him and where he would be the only dog. At this time, we do not recommend Dale to be placed into a home with cats as he gets very excited and vocal around them. He comes right up to the front of his kennel for pets and sits on command when out for walks. Dale weighs 65 pounds and is a large breed dog so please take that into consideration if you are interested in adopting him. We always recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all!Come meet Dale today, he is currently located at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet the fun loving playful group of:Peter Piper Picked a peck of Pickled Peppers. Silly names for silly pups that just love to get attention. When the owners surrendered this litter to YHS all the staff had to give them extra snuggles. They are so cuddly but also your typical roly-poly pups. Please remember that Picked is a puppy and puppy behavior comes with the package. They need basic training and potty training along with being provided chew toys to encourage proper chewing habits. All puppies require socializing from a young age to help them become the best, most well-rounded dog they can be.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.

Story
Jester has been spent a few weekends in a foster home and they absolutely loved him! This is some of what his foster dad had to say! "Jester would be well suited for an active family that loves to walk or go on hikes. He loves up close and in your face cuddles, and is such an affectionate boy. He never had an accident in the house and only touched his own toys, his favorite being his red stuffed lobster. Jester loves to snooze on the couch but is ready to go again if he hears you rustling around. He is a very respectful boy that just wants to be a part of whatever you're doing!"Jester is all about having fun! He is outgoing, playful and has a big heart who he is eager to share with anyone. He is looking for an owner who wants a rough and tumble kind of dog and has the time to work on his training. He is smart and looks at you with those big brown eyes wanting to know what you have in store for him next. He is young both in age and at heart and is looking forward to having a big yard to romp around in. Jester is doing great with his leash training, enjoys his time at playgroup with his friends, and playing fetch with his favorite volunteers. Jester weighs 74 pounds.
