Story
Meet Maximus, a five year old Lab mix weighing around 60 pounds.Maximus` story is quite sad. Animal control was called to pick him up after his owners moved and the landlord called them. He was left tied up next to the house with no shelter and hardly any room to move The area around him was covered in feces and urine and so was he, we can`t imagine why someone would do that to him. When he came to us we immediately gave him a bath and noticed some sores, probably due to the filth he was forced to sit in. Maximus can be a bit unsure and head shy around new people but a couple treats later and he is a big friendly goober with a good amount of energy. He likes treats but seems like no one really worked with him so he is still learning his mannered but responds well to correction. He can be a bit mouthy and may do best in a home with no young kids for now but with a bit of training that could definitely change. Speaking of training, we had a local trainer meet him and she wants to help him put his best paw forward so she is offering two free training sessions to his adopter! He deserves only the best home after what he has been through and we hope to find it for him. This pet is available for adoption on 12/20/2024 at 4:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? $50 Adoption fee! Why so low? Yakima County is spilling over with stray and dumped dogs. Our goal is to get dogs into the right homes ASAP so we can help other dogs in need. It's not about the money, it's about finding the right home for these pups! Bo was surrendered to the Humane Society when his owner went to the hospital. When he was brought in, he was in pretty rough shape, missing half his body hair and needing several baths to completely wash him. We were told he was confined to a dark room without proper food/nutrition and infrequent trips outside. The Humane Society vet thinks his hair will regrow as his body starts getting proper nutrition. Bo is a very friendly dog who likes to meet new people, hang out with new dogs, and would love to find a home with a comfy bed to take long naps in. He loves to hug his people by leaning his head into you. We’ve been enjoying all the snuggles! This dog is located in Selah, WA. PetFinder allows multiple postings of the same animal as long as the postings are 100 miles apart from each other. This way we can reach far and wide to find the perfect home for this dog. If driving to Selah is difficult for you, we will do our best to find a rescue partner to meet you halfway. It's not about the money, it's about finding the right home for these pups! Story
This is a courtesy post. Please contact the owner at the number below. My name is Tank. I'm a lab chesapeak, my mom is half lab half chesapeak my dad is yellow lab. I am current on all my vaccines and have been neutered. I like to be in the outdoors- bird hunting, hiking, swimming and going for car rides. I'm good with other dogs and cats after we get to know each other. I am a very obedient dog. I know all the basic commands. Sit,stay, come, heel, and high 5. I'm also kennel and indoor potty trained. I will sit by the door when I need to go out. I don't have any bad habits. I don't chew on furniture or destroy household items. I don't chase cars or people on bicycles. My downfall is I am NOT GOOD with little kids. I have bitten them and will growl and show my teeth if they get too close. Though I will thrive with a young or older adult. Contact Joe Willet 425-606-0517 We have not met tank and urge you to do your own evaluation
