Story
Meet Dale, a 2-year-old male Labrador Retriever mix.Dale's ideal home would be with a family who could spend time training him and where he would be the only dog. At this time, we do not recommend Dale to be placed into a home with cats as he gets very excited and vocal around them. He comes right up to the front of his kennel for pets and sits on command when out for walks. Dale weighs 65 pounds and is a large breed dog so please take that into consideration if you are interested in adopting him. We always recommend testing all our dogs with any other potential family members prior to adoption to ensure the best outcome for all!Come meet Dale today, he is currently located at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Turkey, a 3-year-old male Golden Retriever mix.Turkey has a silly name that doesn't match his more serious personality. He tends to be a little shy with new people and is not sure of what is expected of him. Turkey does best with calm attention and a quiet but confident handler. He does good on the leash when going outside and keeps a very clean kennel. When Turkey warms up to you, he just wants hugs and belly rubs. Turkey would make a good indoor dog, as he doesn't like to go outside. This pet is available for adoption on 3/31/24 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org.
