Story
Lyra showed up one day in February 2025, happily wandering alongside our other dog as if she already belonged. We didn’t know where she came from or how old she was, but we brought her to the vet, got her spayed, and made sure her vaccinations were up to date. Since then, she’s been nothing but a joy. Lyra is incredibly sweet, gentle with children, and gets along great with our dog. She loves being outside—whether it’s running through the fields, swimming, or chasing mice. At the end of the day, she’s happiest curled up next to someone she trusts, always ready for a cuddle or to join in whatever’s going on. The only reason we’re seeking a new home for Lyra is that she doesn’t get along with our neighbor’s female dog, and we want to do what’s best for everyone. She thrives in open spaces and would do best in a home with room to run and explore. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving dog who’ll be your sidekick from adventures to naps—Lyra just might be your girl.

Story
Meet Nami, a three and a half year old Lab/Shepherd mix weighing 91 pounds. Nami was adopted from us a year and a half ago and recently returned because she was too active for them and wasn`t trained. This girl is the sweetest, most friendly goober and we adore her. She has been in a home with other dogs and cats but shows a little too much interest in chickens. This girl knows the command `sit` and `down`, she is such a good girl. Nami likes to play with toys but is really all about the people and is good with everyone, we think she would be a fantastic family dog. Story
Meet Maximus, a five year old Lab mix weighing around 60 pounds.Maximus` story is quite sad. Animal control was called to pick him up after his owners moved and the landlord called them. He was left tied up next to the house with no shelter and hardly any room to move The area around him was covered in feces and urine and so was he, we can`t imagine why someone would do that to him. When he came to us we immediately gave him a bath and noticed some sores, probably due to the filth he was forced to sit in. He likes treats but seems like no one really worked with him so he is still learning his manners but responds well to correction. He can be a bit mouthy and may do best in a home with no young kids for now but with a bit of training that could definitely change. Speaking of training, we had a local trainer meet him and she wants to help him put his best paw forward so she is offering two free training sessions to his adopter! Maximus walks well on his leash and is so much fun. Maximus has met another dog while with us and did extremely well, wanting to play and be a friendly goober. He deserves only the best home after what he has been through and we hope to find it for him. This pet is available for adoption on 12/20/2024 at 4:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Agnes came to us as a puppy through a friend who is a pet groomer. She is an exuberant eager fetcher of toys and attention. She likes to go on walks. She likes to lay under our piano when I play and even tries to sing along sometimes. She has made great progress on house-training but still has an occasional accident, if we get distracted. She is still very much in the chewing stage, so her caregivers must be proactive in securing possessions. We are sad that family health issues require us to re-home her.

Story
We rescued Buster a year ago from the canine shelter and have just loved him so much. He is a super sweet boy and plays great with kids. We are moving out of state and he is too large of a dog for where we are moving to. Buster loves to play and snuggle up next to you and he will be a great addition to any family.
