Story
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Kuma! She is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and she is almost ready to show off her new skills! Her new abilities include 'sit', 'down', 'shake' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Kuma is like the Energizer Bunny in Labrador form. True to the breed, she’s delightfully puppy-ish and full of life—and that description fits her perfectly! This girl lives for fetch, playtime, and exercise. Kuma is friendly with every dog she’s met and does well sharing her toys. She’s affectionate too, especially when it comes to neck scratches and belly rubs. Once her exercise needs are met, she knows how to relax and chill in the house—but getting that energy out first is key! She is currently on medication to help manage anxiety related to insufficient exercise. We recommend continuing this medication for at least a couple of months after adoption, though it may also be beneficial long-term. Kuma hasn’t always loved her kennel, but she’s made great progress at PACK and has learned that it’s a safe, comfortable space. She has been introduced to cats and seemed to do okay. With proper supervision and continued training, she may be able to live successfully in a home with cats. If you’re looking for an active, loving companion who will keep you moving and then happily snuggle once the day is done, Kuma could be your perfect match! She'll graduate towards the end of January. Apply to meet her today!

Story
*** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, or FOSTER TO ADOPT *** Meet Ricky! He is currently in our P.A.C.K. Program, a 9-week intensive program for routine obedience, agility, and handling training with a prison inmate trainer and he is almost ready to show off his new skills! His new abilities include 'sit', 'wave', 'pray' and more! New adopters should realize that PACK Program graduates will require regular, ongoing reinforcement of learned behaviors in order for them to become permanent. Ricky is a big boy with an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves people and truly aims to please. When playtime rolls around, he turns into a total goofball—especially when a Kong or ball is involved! Ricky is still learning his leash manners, and while it’s a work in progress, he does well when using a Gentle Leader and continues to improve with consistent guidance. He has done very well with female dogs but isn’t always a fan of other males. If he were to have a dog sibling, a female dog would be the best fit, and a meet-and-greet prior to adoption is recommended. Ricky cannot live in a home with cats. Ricky spent quite some time at another shelter in Wyoming, and we’re really hoping his forever family finds him soon. He is such a deserving dog and will make a loyal, loving companion for the right home. He'll graduate towards the end of January and is eager to meet his new paw-rents! Apply to meet Ricky today!

Story
Bucky is a 4 year old black Labrador Retriever mix. He is a stage 5 clinger and loves to cuddle and be close! Bucky has the softest fur, and would love to be pet constantly.  Bucky is house-trained and very energetic, so he would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard. He knows sit, down, place, and “put ‘r there” (shake).  Bucky has lived with children younger than 8 and has done well with them, but would most likely do best with older children or no children, as he can be a bit anxious with new people. He would love to have a dog friend his age because he is very playful and might enjoy a friend who can keep up with him. He would also do well in a home as the only pet, because he loves to be the center of attention! Bucky is also used to having his people work from home, so he would do well in a home where he is not left alone too often.   Bucky is a member of our Keep Them Home program.August 20, 2025, 5:07 pm
