Gomez and his brother Greer have enjoyed growing up together but now they're ready to split up and get their own human families! This young boy is not long out of puppyhood and is eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved. Story
Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.DID YOU SAY FLUFF?! OLIVER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Oliver       Best Guess for Breed:  Retriever/Pyrenees mix     Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of February 2026       SEX:  male   Approximate Weight:  56lbs    Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! In certain home settings -- where the environment might be loud or more intense -- Oliver would do better with another dog in the home to give him confidence.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Oliver is Looking For:   His forever home! This handsome boy is looking for his own humans to trot alongside on those sniffy walks and adventures. Making new pup pals along and having plenty of opportunity to run and play is on his wish list along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But above all he wants to know where he belongs, to be under his own roof, to be safe and loved. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say?  Can you see him by your side?   What My Foster Says About Me: Oliver is a very sweet, shy guy. He's learning to trust the world and people. He can be skittish but will be brave after he see his foster's dog try it first. Occasionally he'll give you a good cuddle before he remembers that you're in her personal space. LOL.   Heartworm information: Oliver is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Oliver has completed this activity restriction period.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
