Story
We adopted Eddie from a dog shelter when he was one year old. He is now seven years old. The shelter told us he is a Lhasa Apso. He is a friendly dog and is house trained. He is a good companion dog as he enjoys keeping people company. Eddie gets along with other dogs, adults and children. He likes to be on the couch throughout the day and at night sleeps in our bed. The reason we are looking to rehome him is because of our growing family and our difficulty being able to manage his anxiety. Eddie has separation anxiety and doesn’t like to be left home alone. He is also afraid of loud noises like fireworks, thunderstorms and smoke detectors, which we try to manage with a prescribed sedative, weighted blanket and bringing him out to use the bathroom. He is a loving and loyal dog. We are looking for someone responsible and caring that can take him in and give him all the attention, time and love he needs.

Story
Ralphie is a 3.5 year old Lhasa Apso. I love him very much, he is adorably handsome, smart, playful and charming when he chooses to be. However, his looks can be deceiving. Early into Ralphie's life, he started showing symptoms of behavioral issues, the neurologist believes there is some impaction along his spine that causes him pain and we have been medicating him as such. Even with this, Ralphie still struggles with intimacy and affection. He does not like to be touched or handled, even by his primary caregiver. No one is allowed to touch him unless there is a reward incentive. While he is not cuddly, Ralphie is very smart, an adept learner who thrives in an environment where he can maintain his autonomy within a given structure and set of boundaries. He needs a leader! He is crate-trained and housebroken. He knows come, go there, sit, down, stay, out, high five, and kiss. I am re-homing Ralphie so he can receive the support he needs. Please, NO CHILDREN. Ideally a solo pet.

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET ELIAS….who came to us matted to the bone and very underweight…but sweeter than pie! This 13.5 lb, charcoal gray, 5 yr old Lhasa/ShihTzu/Schnauzer/Loverboy can be anything you want him to be! It’s hard to see his dreadlocks, but Pic #4 is a fraction of what we cut off from his ears! Elias was a little fearful when he initially came out of the shelter, but once he knew he was safe, he blossomed in record time. His foster roommate was a little frisky (neither were neutered coming from the shelter) but Elias responded like a gentleman. Didn’t like it, but wasn’t aggressive with him! He is a wonderful companion, and he would prefer having company as opposed to being an only dog or left alone. He does not have separation anxiety, but since he is good with children (over 5 yrs) and people and dogs…he shouldn’t have to be! Plus, Elias loves to give kisses and show you how much he appreciates your love! Starting to play/chase after toys…and he gets happier every day! Great in the car so he could go with you anywhere! So far, his potty training has been great — he loves to do his business up against a tree or whatever is nearby! But of course, we never guarantee at your house! Elias would not be great for a senior home, as he is quite active and might be too much to handle. He loves his walks and meeting and greeting people…he came to us a mess and looks great now…could gain a few pounds and grow his hair back and you might have a designer dog!! We love him and so will you! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET CHICKLET and BEAR….a pair of Lhasa mix boys who came from the West LA shelter (with those names). Chicklet is a tan/white, (also liver with light gorgeous eyes), 16 lbs, 5 yr old, Lhasa Mix; Bear is a tan, 22 lb, 7 yr old Lhasa Mix. Their story is one we so often hear — owner became incapacitated and went into a nursing home, leaving them behind. The shelter gave them to another rescue, where a volunteer accidently dropped Bear on his head…no damage was done, but they didn’t take him back and the shelter called us. Chicklet and Bear are something! They are lovable, active, playful boys who act like puppies! Chicklet has long legs unlike a Lhasa but they both have long bodies and Lhasa tails! Chicklet can be a bit reactive to other dogs on the leash, but we are working with him on this. They are relatively quiet — except when they encounter other rowdy dogs! Chicklet will whine when he wants attention, but he is very loving when he takes a minute to settle down. He is attention starved, and very accepting of a belly rub or scratching above his tail! His coat is very soft and cuddly. Bear is a little more laid back than his bro (not siblings) but he still has a lot of zoomy in him! The more confident of the two, he especially loves to play with toys, is very kissy and affectionate. He is a little bigger and could use losing a few pounds, so we are working on this! Nevertheless, he keeps up with Chicklet on a leash and acts like he doesn’t have a care in the world. Well, he really doesn’t! They both love their walks! They would be great hiking candidates and that would help Bear slim down quickly!! Ideally, the boys need an active home with a yard so that they can run around and play…kids (over 10 yrs) would be wonderful and welcomed. They are so active, they could knock younger kids down! If you don’t have a yard, then take them to the park often and that would make them very happy! No idea why anyone would give up these boys as they are fun and happy. Even seem potty trained (but no guarantees). They are the sweetest, happy-go-lucky pups and would love just playing and sleeping the day away! That is what dogs do!! If you are looking for a pair, we want these boys to be home for Christmas. Can you make that happen? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
Meet Bobby - The Gentle Senior Lhasa Apso. Bobby is approximately 15 years old and is currently in a foster home. His foster mom says he’s a real joy to have around. He adores his foster mom so much that he follows her around everywhere. Cuddles and belly rubs are his absolute favorite. He’s potty trained and has excellent leash manners, making him a great companion for a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. He’s not a marathon walker but he does enjoy the fresh air. He prefers a gentle pace. He’s not a big fan of being home alone for too long so he would do best with someone that’s home a lot We’re not sure how he is with kids or other dogs so a meet and greet is a must!If you’re searching for a seasoned companion to add warmth and joy to your home, reach out to our foster coordinator at vbasfosterinfo@gmail.com so we can meet and see if we can create a cozy retirement chapter together. A medical consult will be required prior to any adoption.
