Story
I fell in love with Appa while visiting the pet store one Jan 2008 .i brought him into our home and we were a busy family with 3 children and one cat . Over the next 6 years Appa celebrated every holiday and every graduation . Now it is only me and my youngest who is going to college now. I travel for work and away overnight and cannot take care of him alone . I sm working new job and cannot keep him. He is up to date on all his shots. He enjoys being with his human family and follows you everywhere you go. He enjoys snuggling but knows he should go to his bed . He enjoys playing fetch and doggy soccer. Loves a good bone or sucking juice from that last piece of mango from a mango seed. DeHe is so sweet Andonly barks when someone is coming or he is left outside alone . He dislikes going outside alone and needs his human nearby. He enjoys walks and if you’re home he will hang out with you all day .Appa hates crates . Hw barks if stranger approaches home. He is protective. Great watch dog

McGuinness was found as a stray and hit the jackpot when he safely made his way to rescue. This wispy wooly fluff ball may or may not have any dachshund lineage - who can tell under all that floof?!? Whatever breed he is, this boy is one fabulous dog. He is friendly and doing well with house training (not 100% yet), but please give him a moment to settle in as he can be nervouse in new environments. He enjoys walks in peaceful parks but is not a fan of loud noises and cars speeding past. He likes to go and can be an escape artist zipping right past you at the door. Because of this, a fence is required. He is fine with other calm small dogs but also would be good as a solo canine cause he loves his people. He is not a fan of being left alone so someone who has time to share would be the best. Another element he is NOT a fan of his crate. He hates it! He would say he loathes it. Tee hee. This is something we are continuing to work on slowly with him, but also keeping him calm and happy is a priority for us as well. So if you are a SAHP, McGuinness may be just the guy for you. If you are interested in adopting McGuinness, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. McGuinness's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. McGuinness will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Story
Luna was given to me by a family member who owned the mother and father. The mother is a Shih Tzu and Bichon mix. The father is a Bichon. I have owned her since birth. She is 3 yrs and 6 months old. She weighs 17 pounds. She mostly lies around the apartment all day. She is definitely a house pet. She likes going outside and short walks, but don’t think of leaving her outside for extended periods of time. She would do well in any home. Apartment living is suitable. Friendly, lazy, as long as she can lie on her bed all day, she is happy. She has seizures which are controlled with high protein food.

My sweet Ellie is a 13-year-old family dog and is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy her senior years. Due to my demanding nursing school schedule and her increasing medical needs, I’m no longer able to give her the time and care she deserves.She has some hearing loss and sleeps more than she used to, but she’s still her happy, loving self. She enjoys going on walks, loves being around people, and has a gentle, affectionate personality. We’re hoping to find someone with the time, patience, and love to give her the comfortable and caring home she deserves.
