Story
Cha-cha Charlie is a 2 year-old mystery mix, maybe Lhasa Maltese something, 15 pounds. He is a doll baby who loves to sit with you and snuggle. He follows you everywhere (you will never go to the bathroom alone again!) and just wants to be spoiled. He likes toys and sits for treats. At first he had trust issues but he quickly learned that I was not going to hurt him. I talk to him before I pick him up and he is fine. Charlie was turned into the shelter because of a bite incident. Unfortunately, the shelter does not gather additional information so we do not know exactly what happened. He had originally come from the shelter years ago and was terrified being back after losing his home. He was placed on the euthanasia list so we pulled him to safety. Five minutes after arriving here, Charlie wanted to get into my lap and be held and get lots of love and attention. He likes to be brushed and get belly rubs. He does not like to have his nails trimmed. He did gently put my thumb in his mouth to say hey lady I don’t like that but he did NOT bite at all. Each morning when I sit back down for coffee, he jumped up on the bed and he sits next to me for love. He is here now as I type this kissing my hand. Cha-cha Charlie is fine with all of the other dogs, but it’s not a huge fan of the big dogs. They stress him out. Housebroken and crate trained. Good with dogs, cats are unknown. No kids under 12. He needs a home with dog experience who will understand that he will need time to trust. Someone who can gentle be his alpha leader. Someone who will spoil him like he deserves.

Story
McGuinness was found as a stray and hit the jackpot when he safely made his way to rescue. This wispy wooly fluff ball may or may not have any dachshund lineage - who can tell under all that floof?!? Whatever breed he is, this boy is one fabulous dog. He is friendly and has mastered house training. This little guy is a pro at meeting people and small dogs. He prefers a mellow household so best in home without young children but ok with over 10 yrs. Walks well on leash and enjoys a quiet neighborhood stroll. When he first came to DREAM he was nervous when his foster dad would leave but now is calm when sees grabbing keys and other exiting rituals. He is always up going with and can be an escape artist zipping right past you at the door. Because of this, a barrier at the door or a fence is a must. Not a fan of being created or being left for long periods, expresses great joy when his people return. Recommend day care for longer outings and he has passed testing for professional pack dog day care. This little guy is always happy, with his tail wagging and gives kisses freely. He is playful, silly, smart, agile, expressive, and absolutely leaps when excited. He’s shows no interest in feline companions and basically is indifferent to cats. McGuinness is definitely a pack dog and will be most comfortable with a calm companion dog. He is a card carrying Velcro dog and positions himself to be in eye shot of his human. McGuinness is looking for: •home with a fence or adopter who will manage the door with a fence/barrier •can be companion for other small dog •person who is always up for cuddles •person who will commit to taking him for walks and will continue his training on waiting before darting out the door •patient person who spends time at home with time to help Mr MG feel comfortable being left alone •a person to share cuddles and playtime If you are interested in adopting McGuinness, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. McGuinness's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. McGuinness will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
Patrick is a 6 year old, 17 lb Japanese Chin/Pekingese mix (or so we think) who is an all-around wonderful little guy. He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and once he does, he loves nothing more than being snuggled by his people. Patrick has great house manners and gets along well with both dogs and cats. He enjoys spending time in the yard, but he’s also happy to head out for a walk on leash. He rides wonderfully in the car, too! Patrick has been house-trained in his foster home. Because Patrick can be a little sensitive, older, respectful children would be best. Very young children may frighten him. Patrick is sweet, easygoing, affectionate, and just an all-around great dog. He’s ready to find the family who will love him as much as he deserves! To adopt this handsome boy, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $450, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, dental, heartworm testing, and nares resection.

Story
We recently welcomed a newborn, and unfortunately Teddy has not adjusted well to the change. He requires a lot of attention that we can no longer consistently provide. Despite multiple daily walks, enrichment toys, treats, and time outside his crate, he frequently whines when he isn’t receiving attention, when crated, or when guests are present. He has also begun barking at the baby and when others interact with her. Teddy recently turned one, is potty trained with occasional accidents, fully vaccinated, and previously received professional training. Unfortunately, we do not currently have the time or financial resources for additional training. We love Teddy and believe he deserves a home that can give him the attention, companionship, and care he needs to thrive. Our priority is finding him a safe, loving, permanent home where he can be happy and bring happiness to his new family. Full vaccination and medical records are available.
