Story
Cynthia is a sweet little dog that’s going to make a wonderful new family member. She gets along well with other dogs, she is doing great with her potty training, and she is acclimating really well to her foster home. She is smart, curious, and a fun little gal. If she seems like a good fit for your household, we’d love to hear from you. Cynthia is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Adopt Moose! 🐾 Moose is an adorable 2yr old Shih Tzu mix. He's a sweet, happy little guy with a heart that's ready for a fresh start. Although his past wasn't kind to him, he's looking ahead to a future filled with love, patience, and security. When Moose was found abandoned, his coat was so severely matted it was tangled tightly against his skin. It was heartbreaking to see the neglect he had endured, but despite everything, Moose hasn't let his past define him. He has a gentle spirit and is ready to trust the right family. Moose enjoys meeting new people and gets along well with other dogs and cats. While he'd be happy to have a canine companion, he'd also thrive as your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention. He's potty trained, loves his daily walks, and rarely passes up the chance to carry around a squeaky toy. Moose is incredibly food motivated, making him eager to learn, and he's already mastering commands like "sit." At the end of the day, his favorite place is curled up beside you on the couch, enjoying all the snuggles he can get. Because of the neglect he experienced, Moose can occasionally be sensitive to touch if he's startled or feeling unsure. He is looking for a patient, experienced, adult-only home that understands he may need a little extra time to build confidence and continue learning that he's finally safe. If you're ready to give this deserving little guy the second chance he's been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you! Apply to adopt Moose at: www.pprct.org

Story
Meet Phoenix, an adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso male mix.  At 5 years old, Phoenix is being surrendered, through no fault of his own, and is in need of a loving home. He spends much of his time during the day alone, and would absolutely love a home where he can interact with his family, be active, be cuddled, and live his best life. Phoenix is about 21 pounds of cuteness, searching for a committed, loving family.  Phoenix sleeps in a crate with the door open. He is pad trained in the home, but will go outside as well. Also, leash and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccines and he is neutered. Pad training is due to Phoenix being alone up to 13 hours per day. Phoenix has  interacted well with other dogs since he came into our care.  He does great at our adoption events.  Phoenix prefers a fenced yard to going on a walk.  He is not a match for apartment living.    Phoenix would thrive in a home that’s ready to give lots of love and guidance as he continues to learn to interact with people and other animals, all while providing a family with love. Phoenix would thrive best in a quieter forever home where he can continue to show his wonderful personality and they understand he really does not like to be picked up. Since there is no history of Phoenix with small children, we recommend a home without children.  Adopt Phoenix and make your heart and home whole.    Apply at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on a laptop or computer.  If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
