I have been living on the streets of Puerto Rico foraging for food and hoping someone would want to make me their pet. I was saved by Second Chance and flown to JFK airport by a flight Angel. Neville, 8 years old and Shadow 10 years old are also! They have lived together with the same family, who at this time, find they can no longer care for them. Both dogs are friendly, enjoy cuddles and belly rubs, have wonderful temperaments, get along with cats and other dogs, and are very good with children. Shadow may bark at squirrels, birds and the occasional falling leaf…which quickly stops when he’s told what a good boy he is! He loves to run around the yard, and spends the night either in his crate or in bed with his brother and human. He is very sweet. Neville also loves hanging out outside with Shadow or napping in his crate or bed. The only time he barks is when he gets excited to play a game of tag with Shadow or if he has to go potty outside. Like his brother, he enjoys cuddles and belly rubs, and rubbing his booty makes him wiggle his butt. Neville and Shadow are bonded pups looking for a home together... **Texas adoption only*** This is Joey, a senior dog with the heart and soul of a resilient soldier. For starters, Joey is a beautiful senior Lhasa Apso mix with a unique personality. He's a polite but guarded gentleman who looks like he's wearing a fancy gray suit! Joey is a very sensitive dog who'll need very sensitive, present, and patient people to take him on. For Joey's adoption process he will need several appointments and meetings to see if it is a good match. Joey enjoys long walks, perhaps one of his favorite activities, and will take you on a nicely paced walk through your neighborhood everyday if you get him on the leash! Joey is well trained knowing both how to behave and be comfortable in a crate and relieve himself outside. Joey also enjoys a good tug of war and was a mean puller during his old army days with the other boys in green. He's a child at heart and loves to play with toys! This fellow would prefer to be the only dog in the house but can be tolerant of other dogs. If other dogs are present Joey might feel a bit insecure and start marking. Please don't move too quickly towards Joey! He likes a very relaxed, low-energy environment and is not afraid to let you know when there's too much going on. Joey would prefer no children or at least older children that can respect him and not stick their hands in his face. In addition, Joey prefers people not be too grabby with him. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Pepper (AL) is a male Lhasa Apso mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Pepper is 3 years old at the time of intake in October 2023. Pepper is good with adults and other dogs. This little guy was brought into rescue in a neglected and abused condition. His fur was incredibly matted and soaked in urine. We don’t know how long Pepper suffered in that painful condition, but we’re only looking forward to Pepper’s happy future. Pepper has been shaved down and all of the mats removed. He is a sweet boy but understandably shaken and scared at what his life has been and unsure of what the future holds for him. He’s now pain free and on the path to recovery, but we recommend a quiet home without small children as Pepper needs some space that small children cannot give him.
