Meet Roo, aka Roo-Roo, Kangaroo 🦘
Hi there, I’m a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix (teddy bear) I have an adorable underbite, and a personality that’s equal parts goofy, sweet, and just a tiny bit suspicious of… well, everything!
Let’s just say I’m not entirely convinced that ghosts, goblins, and things that go bump in the night aren’t real. Sometimes I jump when things unexpectedly move or at loud noises! I'll bark and defend against things that aren't even there. Sometimes I bark at new people or let out a little growl when I’m nervous, but I promise I’m just trying to figure things out. I just need a little time to feel safe. I can be especially unsure around the boys, so a little extra patience goes a long way.
Once I get to know you though, my sweet side really shines! I love pets, snuggles, walks, and playing fetch. I have this adorable way of standing up and putting my paws together to say “pretty please,” or am I offering up a little prayer that ghosts and goblins go away? Who knows?
I came into rescue pretty badly matted, so I’ll need a patient, kind groomer who can help me learn that grooming doesn’t have to be scary.
My dream home is one filled with understanding, kindness, and people who won’t expect me to be brave about everything right away. I need someone willing to let me settle in at my own pace, build my confidence, and show me that the world isn’t quite as spooky as I sometimes think it is.
In return, I’ll give you goofy antics, sweet snuggles, happy walks, games of fetch, and a whole lot of love once you’ve earned my trust.
