Story
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION: Edgar is an adult Maine Coon. He is a big, cuddly boy. Edgar needs a diet of good quality wet food, not dry. He has problems with constipation. He has tested positive for FIV, but is in good health. Recent dental. He will be stressed by other male cats and will be aggressive, but is fine if those other cats are calm. He gets along with females okay. He does not like dogs. He is very affectionate and sweet toward people. He is stressed around small children. Edgar needs in an adopter who has a good relationship with their vet. Edgar is trained to allow claw clipping and likes carriers. He will need frequent claw trims. He is very good with medical care, including oral medication and fluids. He is a large cat, and Maine Coons are smart and need a lot of enrichment in their environment in order to not become destructive out of boredom. The right adopter will understand that a large long haired Maine Coon will need certain additions in their environment and diet. We are not sure exactly how old Edgar is, but we suspect over eight years.

Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Name:  Fluffy Tail. Breed:  Maine Coon Mix, more gray but does have some brown undertones.  Gender: Male. 5 years old, 15.8 pounds, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Looking for a cat who’s more like a roommate with fur?  Meet Fluffy Tail, an affectionate and adventurous cat who’s never short on conversation or cuddles.  He’s not a “cat’s cat”, he’s a people’s cat, perfect for someone who appreciates an independent spirit with a lot of personality.  He especially loves interacting with his family and will follow you anywhere to be close to the action.  He’ll keep you company with his commentary and playful banter. Fluffy Tail would do best in a home where he gets plenty of human interaction.  He would be fine being the only cat and is also open to older mellow companions and good with dogs.  If you’re looking for personality and charm, then Fluffy Tail is your man! Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Kathy K.)May 8, 2025, 3:27 pm

Story
Got him from a friend at 4 weeks old, bottle fed until 8 weeks and has been on wet cat food ever since. He’s very playful, loves climbing and being chatty while doing so. annoys my dog by trying to play with her (never any claws). he sleeps in a enclosed space as to not annoy her all night. does fine with a litter box and never had any accidents. hasn’t sprayed pee once even though he’s an intact male. all around great cat i’m sad to see him go.
