Story
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION: Edgar is an adult Maine Coon. He is a big, cuddly boy. Edgar needs a diet of good quality wet food, not dry. He has problems with constipation. He has tested positive for FIV, but is in good health. Recent dental. He will be stressed by other male cats and will be aggressive, but is fine if those other cats are calm. He gets along with females okay. He does not like dogs. He is very affectionate and sweet toward people. He is stressed around small children. Edgar needs in an adopter who has a good relationship with their vet. Edgar is trained to allow claw clipping and likes carriers. He will need frequent claw trims. He is very good with medical care, including oral medication and fluids. He is a large cat, and Maine Coons are smart and need a lot of enrichment in their environment in order to not become destructive out of boredom. The right adopter will understand that a large long haired Maine Coon will need certain additions in their environment and diet. We are not sure exactly how old Edgar is, but we suspect over eight years.

Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
We'll also keep you updated on Anamaria's adoption status with email updates.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Captain Jack Sparrow! We had to give him a main character name because he is always front and center!! He is only 10 months old but is already quite large, so he's going to be a very big boy! He is extremely friendly and affectionate and will follow you around looking for pets and love. He gets along great with everybody, including cats, dogs and kids! He was rescued from a shelter in NC and stayed at a foster home down there while he awaited transport to DPR. At his foster home in NC, he slept in bed with his foster mom every night, cuddled on her pillow. He loves to give kisses too. He is the absolute sweetest boy, and we just can't say enough great things about him!  This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative.
