Silas is a 7 year old neutered male Maine Coon mix. He is a loveable & sociable cat. We rescued him as a kitten at 2-3 months old. He is diabetic & is on insulin. He is doing good on his medicine. Unfortunately, it requires being home to feed and give it to him. Our family dynamic has changed & it is hard to be there for him. We had never had a cat in the house before getting Silas. We found out later that my husband is allergic & has recently developed some other medical issues making it hard to be around him. He is used to a dog in the house (he grew up with our dog). He is good with people, easy to hold, & play with. He purrs a lot & loves to lay in your lap. He is an indoor cat, but he loves to go outside & look around. We have a screened in porch that he goes on. He will take a bath & play fetch with his toy mouse. He is up to date on all vaccines & vet visits. We think he would do well in an environment with adults & older kids, retired person or one who works from home.

Transmission:  FIV is passed from cat to cat mainly through deep bite wounds, the kind that occur during fights and territorial disputes involving feral and unsterilized males.  Casual, social behavior such as sharing a water/food bowl and mutual grooming will NOT spread FIV.  There is no evidence that cats in the household with an FIV+ cat will acquire FIV from the FIV+ cat. DECLAWED (front paws) one year old cat Mia Mittens was rescued within the neighborhood a year ago by an elderly lady who is looking to rehome her. Mia is smart, spunky and loves to cuddle. She likes children and dogs and MUST be an indoor cat at all times. Mia loves bird watching from the window and playing with her toys. Happy to pass along accessories to a new owner, if interested.

I’ve had Boots for most of his life, nearly 6 years. I adopted him from a shelter when he was 9 months old after he “lost a fight with a bird” resulting in him losing an eye. He is very loyal, friendly and curious. I love him to death but unfortunately cannot continue to support his needs. I tell people that he has IBS because without his prescription diet he tends to throw up or have diarrhea. His adoption will come with at least one unopened bag of food + his prescription. He does have arthritis in his spine with the occasional flair up impacting his mobility. Additionally, I’ve struggled on and off with him marking/urinating outside of the litter box over several years that might be resolved in an only cat household. I have LOTS of medical records to handover. The adoption fee is strictly to ensure he goes to a good home and is negotiable.
