Louie is a loving 8-year-old small breed dog (under 10 lbs) who has spent his entire life as a devoted companion to my elderly mother. Unfortunately, she’s recently moved to a place where she can no longer care for him, and we’re searching for the perfect retirement home for this special little guy. Louie recently had a full health check-up and is in great overall condition. While he has some vision and hearing loss ( best guess is 60-70% blind and partially deaf), it doesn’t slow down his wonderful spirit! He’s fully housebroken and has the gentle, calm temperament you’d expect from a dog who’s spent his life in a quiet, loving home. Louie is looking for a patient family where he can spend his golden years continuing to be the affectionate, easy-going companion he’s always been. If you have room in your heart for a loyal senior pup who still has plenty of love to give, Louie might be your perfect match.

I came to Big Dog Ranch as a breeder release after spending my whole life in heartbreaking conditions, used over and over for puppies and rarely touched with kindness. I don’t know what it feels like to be part of a family, and I’ve never even had a leash clipped onto me. The world outside my cage is completely new and sometimes scary. It may take me months to understand that hands can be gentle and homes can be safe, but deep down I’m hoping someone will give me the patience and love I’ve never had. With the right person, I know I can finally learn what it means to be more than a number… to be loved.

Leo is a 7 pound, 7 year old Maltese mix. Sweet and cuddly, quiet and calm. He is housebroken, good with other dogs and oh so soft! He and his brother, Max, are bonded and need to be adopted together.  Leo is up to date on his vaccines and already neutered. Boca and Bailey are 11 month old maltipoo boys. They will need to be adopted together. Love to be with their humans. Boca is the boss; he’s always alert, energetic, active, loves to run and play catch with tennis balls. Bailey is very affectionate and gentle; he loves to be held and cuddle all the time. At night , he will fall asleep with you on the couch. The boys are up to date on vaccines and housebroken on pads. We are ideally looking for a young family with a yard where someone will usually be home with them. Boca and Bailey are in our direct from owner program. Chesed Rescue will receive and review all applications, but these boys will be adopted directly from their current family. They will need to be neutered by the adopter.
