Azmira Maltese Mix · 1.5 Years Old · 11 lbs · She / Her
Azmira is a year-and-a-half-old Maltese mix with eleven pounds of silky softness and a heart that, once she has decided she trusts you, opens up completely. She has just finished weaning her three puppies, a devoted mama from the very first day, and she is now moving through the natural hormonal transition that follows. This means she may be a little more sensitive or unsure in these early weeks, which makes patience and calm surroundings especially important right now. New people and new environments can feel overwhelming to her even under ordinary circumstances, and she will need time to settle in. But with the right person, one who understands that some of the most loving dogs simply need a slower, gentler introduction to the world, she will eventually roll right over for a belly rub, and that moment will be worth every bit of the wait.
Azmira came to us without much socialization, so she is still learning that the world is a safe place. She is not a dog for a first-time owner or a busy household. She needs someone with genuine experience, real patience, and the time to help her grow at her own pace. A quiet, stable home environment will be especially beneficial as she finishes her hormonal transition and finds her footing. In return, she will become one of the most devoted companions you have ever had. A note on her coat: Azmira's silky coat, we think, is hypoallergenic and beautifully soft, a wonderful match for an adult home that loves a well-groomed companion.
This dog's adoption fee is $550 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble; our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health. * All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting, including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups and ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family, and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises.
