He had a really hard start to his life, and would really love to experience a home that he is safe and taken care of. With this boy, he will need some extra work to find his trust. He is looking for someone that is calm and can give him patience with his nervousness around people given his past. With proper socialization and time, this boy will be such a happy boy that will blossom into the amazing dog he is. Could you be that person that shows Jasper there are good people out there? Please give this boy a chance, he deserves to be spoiled and loved for the rest of his life!Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are current on vaccines/deworming, and microchipped. We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. Meet Barbara!! Babs is a sweet and sassy 11 yr old Maltese mix who had a family her whole life until one day they just up and abandoned her. We have no idea why but there couldn't possibly be a good enough reason to abandon sweet Babs on her own! Given Babs history of abandonment she gets very attached to her people and wants to be nearby all of the time. Because of that, she will require someone who is either retired or works remote - Babs will not be happy home alone for hours at a time. She would prefer adult human company though - no children and preferably no other dogs. Meet Toby!  They don’t get much cuter than this guy!! Toby is a one(ish) year old Maltese mix who wastes no time winning over the hearts of everyone he meets!! Don’t let his small size fool you though! This guy packs a lot into his small little body….a lot of personality; a lot of energy; and most importantly a lot of LOVE!  Toby is great with other dogs of all sizes and cats! He’s looking for an ACTIVE family with at least one other playful dog and a fenced in yard to run around and get his zoomies out. Oliver is an 8 year old, 11 lb Maltese with a sweet, gentle personality. After spending his early years in a puppy mill, he’s shy with new people and situations, but once he feels safe, he’s a loving little companion who enjoys being close to his people. Oliver would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. He’s is warming up to men, although he tends to trust women more quickly. While Oliver is fostered with other animals, he doesn’t love sharing his humans’ attention with them, so he would be happiest as an only pet. He isn’t destructive and doesn’t need to be crated, as crates can make him feel protective. Oliver does wear a belly band indoors. If you have a calm home and the patience to let Oliver settle in at his own pace, you’ll gain a devoted little friend. Meet Krypto 💙 This sweet senior is truly a puppy at heart! He's content snuggling on the couch or on his blanket (making him a GREAT co-worker). Once he's rested, he's ready to play! Plushies are his go to along with a good match of tug-o-war. He is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night. He loves going out for walks and is excellent on leash. If you have a fenced yard, he'll show off his best zoomie skills! Like to travel? He's the perfect passenger. While he's the only dog in his current foster home, he is non-reactive to dogs he's met on walks. He hasn't been exposed to cats, but seemed curious about the one he met at the groomer.
