August 19, 2026 - I am back at Act2Pups, I lost my Mom unexpectedly. I'm getting vetted and settling back into rescue. I found myself out on my own until I was taken to a noisy scary place called the county shelter. I didn’t have a micro-chip and no one came to find me so I stayed in a small cage for a week until a nice person rescued me. I didn’t look too bad, but I was rushed to the vet after a few days of not eating. The vet discovered I had an infection, and pancreatitis. After some emergency treatment I went home and started on a low fat diet. I’m doing very well now. I’m a quiet little man and I have eyes that look clear into my soul. My hearing isn't very good. I do get along just fine with all my housemates so another small pup would be fine. I’m just the right age and weight for the right family.

Oliver is an 8 year old, 11 lb Maltese with a sweet, gentle personality. After spending his early years in a puppy mill, he’s shy with new people and situations, but once he feels safe, he’s a loving little companion who enjoys being close to his people. Oliver would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. He’s is warming up to men, although he tends to trust women more quickly. While Oliver is fostered with other animals, he doesn’t love sharing his humans’ attention with them, so he would be happiest as an only pet. He isn’t destructive and doesn’t need to be crated, as crates can make him feel protective. Oliver does wear a belly band indoors. If you have a calm home and the patience to let Oliver settle in at his own pace, you’ll gain a devoted little friend. Miss Cannoli is an escape artist if she is not getting the exercise she craves. She cannot go to a home with kids bc she is door darter and need someone able to work on this with her. I truly think if she could get into a home that loves to go for walks to wear her out and stimulate her brain, she wouldn’t feel the needs to explore.
