Meet Brownie!
Brownie is a sweet, calm, and delightfully goofy four-year-old who enjoys leisurely walks, quiet companionship, and plenty of time lounging around the house.
He walks beautifully on leash, staying right beside his person without pulling. Brownie enjoys one or two walks each day and is equally happy settling in for a long nap afterward. He also rides calmly in the car and has done well when left home alone during a full workday.
Brownie has lived peacefully with a cat. When meeting other dogs, he is shy, submissive, and respectful. He does best with calm introductions that allow him to become comfortable at his own pace. He is looking for a quieter home with older children who understand gentle, slow greetings.
Brownie is not a traditional lap dog, but he enjoys being close to his people. He will follow them around before settling nearby for a nap. After someone has been away, he may offer a special little nuzzle into their neck when picked up.
His goofy habits include rolling around on carpets, putting his entire foot in his mouth, and frequently showing off his belly. Brownie knows “sit” and “come,” rarely barks, loves soft beds and blankets, and never turns down a jerky treat.
Brownie is looking for a peaceful home where he can enjoy regular walks, cozy naps, and the companionship of people who will give him the time and space he needs to settle in.
This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)

Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.
Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.
