Story
Meet my sweet purebred Maltese puppy, born December 22, 2025. He is a loving, playful, and affectionate little boy who enjoys cuddling, playing, and being around people. He has a wonderful personality and brings so much joy to everyone he meets. He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, and veterinary records will be provided. He is healthy, happy, and looking for a family that can give him the time, love, and care he deserves. This is an extremely difficult decision, and I am only rehoming him due to housing and financial circumstances. My priority is finding him a safe, stable, and loving forever home where he will be treated as a member of the family.A rehoming fee applies to ensure a serious and committed adopter.

Story
🪻 Mia 🪻 Buckle up. Settle in. Lend an ear. It’s story time. Once upon a time, a family went searching for a tiny, fluffy, designer puppy. They got Mia a bright, sensitive little soul who should have been given guidance, boundaries, and safety. She wasn’t starved. She wasn’t crated for 23 hours a day. But she was deprived of the structure and advocacy that allow a young dog to grow into a mentally healthy adult. We don’t believe in “bad” dogs. We believe in dogs who were failed, misunderstood, or left to figure out the world without support. And when that happens, their coping skills twist into something reactive, defensive, or chaotic. These dogs are harder to place. But they are not hopeless. They are worth fighting for. We took Mia in as a surrender, and her behavior was not disclosed. She’s been with us for a bit now and as she's gotten comfortable her behaviors have come to light. Mia is over a year old now. From what we understand, she lived in a home with several children, no real training, no corrections, and no one stepping in when she was overwhelmed. No adult stepped in to protect her. So she learned to protect herself. And here’s the truth: Mia wakes with violence if startled. Mia guards certain items and will snap if pushed. But since being with us we've been working with her and her behaviors are manageable with the right approach. And we want to give credit where it’s due - Max from Ready, Set, Train has been incredible, helping us understand Mia’s triggers and giving us tools that actually work for her. With structure, consistency, and cheap anxiety medication from our vet, Mia is already showing improvement. Many organizations would label her unadoptable. We don’t. Because we’ve also seen the other side of her. Mia is a joyous, energetic, hilarious little sprite. She is spunky, friendly, and loves the car. She’ll run outside in any weather like she’s training for the Olympics. She is still a puppy at heart - curious, bright, and full of potential. But potential only matters if someone is willing to meet her where she is. What Mia Needs: She needs a person who is ready to learn, to listen, and to advocate for her. Someone who understands that reactive behaviors can be managed with consistency and education. Her adopter must be willing to: - Continue her training - Has to have a designated sleeping area in a kennel or taller x-pen - Use treats to trade for items she guards - Provide structure, training, and routine - Protect her from situations that overwhelm her - Accept her as she is today while helping her grow into who she could be She deserves someone who sees her more than her triggers. Some dogs need a village. Mia needs her person. Adoption fee: $350 ------------------------------------------------- We ask that you fill out our adoption application to start. We ask people to be approved for adoption before meeting our animals one-on-one because we would hate for someone to fall in love and things not work out. www.furangelsrs.com/ Our adoption requirements are under 'ready-to-adopt,' and the dog application is under the 'dog' section. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Oh Laura, such a shy, sweet little thing. She is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 8 pounds. Here are a few nice facts about her. She is quite scared right now, poor little muffin A little unsure in this busy kennel environment Darling girl was covered in fleas, but she is safe now and all treated Shy, but really wants to trust you, just takes a little time, then she will snuggle in your lap Wags her cute little tail when she is feeling comfortable, it makes your heart happy You just need to go slow with her right now Such a gentle treat taker - loved the little hotdog pieces during her photo shoot Will just lean close to you when she feels safe and loves soft pets Laura will do best in a quieter, more low-key type of home with adults only. She can't wait to find a home where she feels safe and loved, she will just blossom. Laura is going to make someone the best little friend, she would love it if you came to meet her. If you are interested in Laura and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. Story
Hi my name is Jackie! I am a good boy and I am looking for an active owner willing to offer training and exercise, but in return I can offer unconditional love and years of happiness. I do have some big feelings about some things in this world and tend to express this by reacting with barking and may be a bit too much for some families. I’m a sensitive boy, other animals and young children can overwhelm me, so I’d like to be the only one in your life. I will need to continue my training and HSHV would have training recommendations for me at time of adoption, to help me grow into my best self! Please come and meet me soon so we can become best friends.
