Meet Abbey! If you're looking for a calm and loving companion, Abbey is your girl! She's happiest when she can snooze by your side, keeping you company with her gentle presence. Abbey is the perfect match for someone who appreciates a laid-back, easygoing dog who simply wants to be near her people. She will let out little barks when she wants attention or when she needs to go potty. Though she would prefer to hangout inside, t his sweet pup walks wonderfully with her harness and is in no hurry- her strolls are more about enjoying the moment than racing ahead. She's loyal, mellow, and ready to find her forever home where she can nap and share endless companionship. Could that be with you?  Age: 12 years old Breed: Maltese Weight: 15 lbs, ideally her goal weight is about 12 lbs to aid in her health, joints and mobility Kid-friendly: Hasn't been around them much, has never been aggressive towards them Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes, mostly ignores Crate trained: No Potty trained: Yes, will bark or go to the door Health concerns: Back hip was out of place prior to coming to rescue, seems ok now, needs to remain on arthritis medication. About $95/month Adoption fee: $375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. Story
Hi, I’m Mila. I’m a quiet girl with a gentle heart. The world is still a little new and overwhelming for me. I came from a puppy mill, so I didn’t grow up learning how to be a regular dog. I’m very shy, but I promise — I’m never aggressive. I just need a little time to feel safe. Right now, I’m more of an “Aloof Admirer.” I like to hang out nearby and watch what’s going on. I’m curious… I’m just still figuring humans out. The good news? I’m making really nice progress. I'm pretty low energy and I’m happiest in a calm environment. I don’t play much yet, and I’m very quiet. I eat breakfast and dinner like clockwork (routine makes me feel safe), and I love food — treats are the fastest way to my heart. I’m crate trained and still learning the basics of home life. I do well with other dogs, and having a confident dog friend might help me keep building my courage. What I really need is a patient family. Someone who understands that healing takes time. Someone who will celebrate the little wins — like when I take a step closer, or choose to stay nearby instead of hiding. I may not be the life of the party… but if you give me the gift of safety, I promise to quietly bloom. Could you be the one to show me that the world is kind? Story
Hi there! I’m Glitterati—and yes, I’m as dazzling as my name suggests. I’m a one-year-old Maltese boy with big brown eyes and a heart that’s just as soft as my fluffy coat. If you’re looking for a little shadow to follow you around, a toy-tossing champion, and a professional snuggler all in one tiny 12-pound package… well, you just found him. I warm up to people quickly and love being part of the action. Toys are one of my favorite things, and I’ve got just the right balance of playful energy and cuddle-up-next-to-you sweetness. After a fun play session, I’m more than happy to curl up and relax by your side. I’m also a pretty polite little gentleman. I sleep quietly in my crate at night or when you’re away, and I do a great job heading outside to take care of business. And don’t worry about the Minnesota winters—I rock my coat like a runway model and head out like a pro. I haven’t met kids or cats yet, but with my easygoing, affectionate personality, my people think I’ll do just fine with the right introductions. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion who will brighten your days and warm your lap, I just might be your perfect match.
