Story
We would like to introduce you to Lucy, a young Maltese or Shih Tzu mix estimated to be about one year old. Lucy came into our rescue in extremely poor condition. She was emaciated, little more than skin and bones, and her coat was so severely matted that she had to be sedated in order for us to safely remove the hair. When we saw how thin she was under all that matting, it was clear she had simply not been fed or cared for properly. Lucy is a wonderful dog that had a hard beginning and is hoping for a new start with a understanding home. Lucy will be spayed before adoption. Over the past few weeks, Lucy has made remarkable progress. She has already gained 3 pounds and is steadily regaining her strength. Her personality has begun to shine through: she is spunky, high-energy, and very affectionate. Lucy is still learning basic house manners. She is very smart and learning how to be a dog. She is currently working on her housebreaking and improving her leash manners. She can also be mouthy at times, which suggests she may never have been taught appropriate boundaries about using her mouth with people. We are actively working with her on this, and she is responsive to guidance. She is a chewer and will chew on anything she can. Despite her rough start, Lucy gets along excellently with all humans and truly does not have a mean bone in her body. She now enjoys playing with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with a compatible canine companion. However, Lucy is not suited for a home with cats. Lucy is a resilient young dog who, with continued structure, training, and affection, has the potential to become a wonderful companion. If you would like more information about Lucy or are interested in meeting her, please feel free to contact us. At pawdazzlepet@ail.com

Story
Meet Montgomery, a dapper and devoted trusted companion who is ready to find the perfect fit for his forever home! This charming fellow is a distinguished member of the "Rollover 4 Belly Rub Greeting Club," always ready to flop over and show his appreciation for a little affection. Recently recovered from surgery, Monty is embracing life with a wagging curly tail and a heart full of joy; he is currently mastering the art of the staircase with a focused, steady pace and is doing a wonderful job learning his "Sit," "Stay," and "Nice" commands. This observant fido loves nothing more than spending time in the garden, curiously watching squirrels and listening to the birds, but his favorite place is always right by your side or hanging out with his foster sisters. He has a spirited way of showing his affection by playfully catching your attention when he’s excited, and while he’s still perfecting the "return" part of fetch, his enthusiasm for the game is absolutely infectious. With his signature adorable underbite and a personality that sparkles at every adoption event, Monty is a lively, loving presence who will bring endless smiles to his lucky new family. *Montgomery is currently in a loving foster home in NJ.
