Story
Meet Pickle! Fostered in Jackson NJPickle is a sweet 9-pound, approx 2-3 year old Maltese looking for a patient and understanding home where he can build confidence at his own pace. This adorable little guy is very shy and may hide under a table or find a quiet spot when he's feeling nervous. While he takes time to warm up, the reward is well worth the wait. With gentle encouragement and plenty of treats, Pickle slowly begins to trust. His favorite snacks are cheese and peanut butter, and they're a great way to win his heart! Once he feels comfortable, he'll happily come over to see what goodies you have for him.Pickle is pee pad trained and does well when left home alone. He's still learning to walk on a leash and will need a family willing to help him continue building confidence out in the world. One thing Pickle would truly love is a calm female dog companion around his size. Having a gentle canine friend to snuggle with helps him feel safe and secure, and he enjoys the comfort of another dog by his side.  For this reason, we will only consider a home for him with another female dog companion.  Due to his timidness, we are looking for a home with a fenced yard.Pickle is searching for a quiet, loving home that understands shy dogs and will give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. In return, you'll get the joy of watching a timid little dog grow into a trusting companion. If you have patience, kindness, and a soft spot for underdogs, Pickle may be the perfect addition to your family.  Pickle is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. To apply for Pickle, please click the link to submit an application.  He is looking for a very special furever home who understands his needs, and. is committed to helping him continue to come out of his shell. https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/ ##2830168##

Story
Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
OLD LADY ALERT!!!Maggie came into the shelter as a surrender after being dumped as a vets office. She needed some TLC when she came in and got a shave down. She does have some medical challenges. As you can see, she has double cherry eye, but they don`t appear to be interfering with her vision or causing discomfort. She has arthritis in her back legs that make her a bit stiff walking but managed with pain meds. This girl isn`t ready to throw in the towel, but she does need a home that understands seniors. Sometimes she is cranky and wants to be left alone. She has been in foster and done very well. She does tend to guard her bed so getting her to get up and move can be a bit of a risky maneuver, but her foster mom has discovered she can be bribed with a treat. She also uses a treat for her meds, and it works great. Maggie hasn`t met a treat she didn`t love! She is staying in a home with other dogs and has only had one issue which was basically a quick back and forth then forgotten but still growls at them so we are saying a home with no other dogs for her. . She is a good old girl that deserves a home to live out her days/years in love and understanding. If you think you`re the one to give her this incredible gift, please don`t delay. Let`s get the best days of her life started!

Story
✨Meet Ivory!✨ Ivory is a Maltese who came into us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy Mill) in Lancaster County. Ivory had a very difficult life before coming to us, being used as a mill mama her entire life. She is shut down at this time but is slowly starting to give us her trust. We are confident she will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands her past and gives her the time she needs to trust them and her new surroundings. Ivory loves other animals, and will thrive in a home with at least one other dog. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! We promise there is nothing that compares to gaining the love and trust of a mill mama, but it requires intentional effort and commitment from their new family. With the right guidance, puppy mill survivors can blossom into well-socialized, joyful dog- so our goal is always to ensure every adopter is fully prepared to give them the life and environment they need to truly thrive! If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾 Angel’s Retreat www.angelsretreat.org West Chester, PA PA Kennel License 17335
