Our pets are located in Mt.Airy, NC until adopted. We can transport to your area or one of north eastern delivery stops. We have a cost effective transporter who delivers every other week up north. Adopt fee $475! Venus is 3 years old as of 4-26-24. She's a precious people loving girl. She is good with children and adults alike.She is ok with other dogs and she likes cats. She's a lap dog and loves to be cuddled. She will go to her new home spayed, current on all vaccines, heartworm lyme tested negative and on preventives. She is microchipped. Hi!  My name is Jacie and I am looking for a forever home.  I wandered up into the yard of a really nice lady who kept me safe while she tried and tried to find my owner.  When she couldn't and knew she couldn't give me the best of homes 'cause she had lots of other dogs, she reached out to a small rescue who then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  Folks aren't sure what I'm mixed with but best guess is Maltese with something, but whatever I am my foster mom says I'm super cute with a personality to match.  I'm about 18mos old and I only weigh around 11lbs and shouldn't get any bigger.  I have gotten along with lots of other small dogs and so far haven't paid much attention at all to those things called cats.  I really like my food and treats which I take gently.  I've done well in my crate so far without any accidents or tearing up of any bedding, but if I hear or see you I may let you know not to forget about me.  I'm good on leash as I love going for walks and exploring.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Hi!  My name is Elliott and I am looking for a forever home that will keep me safe and loved.  I was picked up as a stray and taken to a really scary place called a shelter where my microchip identified my owners.  When they were called they said they were on vacation and had left me in the backyard by myself 5 days earlier, they didn't know how I got out and when they got back, they came in and signed me over 'cause they said they just didn't want me anymore.  Fortunately, BCAA heard about me, said they would help me and got me out just in the nick of time 'cause as an owner surrender I was immediately put on that bad thing called "the list". Best guess as to my breed mix is possibly maltese mixed with some shihtzu; whatever I am, my foster mom says I'm super cute with a personality to match and a cute underbite.  Even though I'm thought to be about 6years old, I have lots of spunk and I'm past all of that puppy foolishness; and at around 15lbs, I will fit just about anywhere. Meet Shapo! Shapo is an 8 pound maltese and is 3 to 4 years old. Shapo is really such a great little guy to be around! He is very sweet and kind natured. Shapo is crate trained and potty trained and does well on a leash. He has been great with all of the other doggy friends he has met. Shapo loves to hang out with the other dogs but is also perfectly content hanging out on the couch or bed with his humans. Shap0 had a dental cleaning and bloodwork at his recent vet visit. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Milano is a very sweet little guy with some very big medical issues! This 7 year old maltese mix has never really had proper medical care. He came to us with a heart murmur, nails so long they were curling all the way around, unneutered and with a large perianal hernia causing him to have a hard time going to the bathroom. He's going to our vet for a full work up, but his recovery and treatment/management of his issues will take a while. We would love to find a committed local foster that can take care of him through his surgeries and treatments so he doesn't need to recover at the shelter, and bring him back for his medical follow ups. He's been a very sweet agreeable guy, has lived with dogs and cats previously and is social and sweet meeting people. He's under 10lbs full grown. Meet Leah!! This silly girl is a 7 year old Maltese mix who weights about 9lbs. She is so so sweet. Just wants a pillow to curl up on. Seems to be fully Potty trained and is Great with all people and dogs. Would be a perfect apartment companion or a great lap dog in any home. The hair on the top of her head is fantastic, hence our fun hair styles!! She was another freedom ride doggo we pulled yesterday from our local shelter!
